Head & Shoulders to be banned?

According to Arab Times:

Head & Shoulders in danger’
The Ministry of Health (MoH) might get the ‘Head and Shoulders’ shampoo removed from the market, in case it is proven that the shampoo contains carcinogenic substances, reports Al-Hurriya daily. A Qatari newspaper, Al Sahrq, recently published a report stating that research revealed the presence of ‘Deuxan’, which causes cancer, cirrhosis and kidney fibrosis, in the shampoo. The newspaper had warned the general public against using the shampoo and indicated that it will be withdrawn from the markets.

I’ve actually been using Head & Shoulders for years but just yesterday for some odd reason I decided to try Clear (pictured above). It’s actually pretty good, smells great and instead of burning your eyes like Head & Shoulders, Clear actually has this strange cooling effect.

Thanks xboclibe

    So what about parabens?

Check your gels and lotions for those (e.g. methylparabens).

I don’t hear the MoH banning them.

  17. MJHAYAT says:

i got an email saying Clear is the one with carcinogenic stuff, all rumors, nothing true.

  18. Mohammed says:

i am using it for 13 year . mint or lemon .

  19. D. says:

You know what else contains carcinogens? Cigarettes. How about we ban those instead?

  20. Kuwait says:

Use Pantene and you’ll be safe.

BTW Head & Shoulders should now be called Head, Shoulders & Kidneys.

  21. howdy says:

This might be another business conspiracy to destroy a product. Its only a search engine away to balance issues and lead you to a decision….

  22. N says:

how about just shaving your head and rubbing i with soap instead??!! thats what i do

  23. Desert Girl says:

I only use H&S when my hair color has come out too dark. It is really good for stripping your hair of color.

  24. Desert Girl says:

Wait a minute… bigger picture… why is the MOH concerned with little issues like banning Head & Shoulders when

    – they are still building government homes next to/under high voltage wires?
    - the air we breathe is so polluted?
    - pollutants and raw sewage contaminates the bay
    - there aren’t enough food/restaurant inspectors in the country
    - there are no laws against smoking in the workplace (carcinogens)
    - etc etc etc

    Shampoo? Puhleeeeeze.

  25. BeirutBoy says:

My friend’s gna be so disappointed!
    He’s in LOVE with clear!

  26. Fattboa says:

Lol, might as well ban laundry softeners and scents they contain carcinogens as well. Hell, ban peanuts they have one of the most potent carcinogens known in their powder
It is extremely funny that the MoH bans something for potential health issues. More like its cutting into the market share of a competing shampoo product and its owner is not too happy, now thats sounds more plausible

  27. Om Hussain says:

I read that clear war banned from the UAE market for the same reason it had carcinogenic chemicals, if u have dandruff I suggest u try 25 tea try oil drops in 2 spoons olive oil twice a week before taking a bath it really works I tried it on my husband.

  28. John says:

Its so true, one year back i stopped using Head & Shoulders cos i found i have been loosing hair a lot. Now i use Nivea Hair raising shampoo.

  29. Fouz says:

Insted of using head and shoulder to get rid of dandruf use vineger with water and rinse hair after 5 minute and rinse hair @ use that three times in aweek and see the result

  30. allwyn says:

clear is really good gives your head a coolong effect.

Note to those with burnt eyes: Put shampoo on top of head, not on front of face.
