I Heart Ace Hardware
Ace Hardware is one of the few places in Kuwait that has actually improved over time instead of getting worse. I pass by usually once a week either to pick up some treats for my dog or just to aimlessly wonder through the aisles checking out the totally random stuff they have. That’s my favorite part about Ace and its that they carry items that you don’t need until you really need it. I don’t know if that made any sense but in my case I’ve passed by items that I never imagined I had any use for or even knew what they were until one day while I’m working on a project I find out that I really need this one item and seeing it at Ace.
Abyat and Platform were both rumored to be competition for Ace Hardware but now that they’ve launched its obvious they aren’t. Although they carry hardware and home improvement items they don’t carry the wide range of smaller random items that Ace does. If you haven’t passed by Ace Hardware you should. They’re located in Al-Rai near the Pirelli and Dunlop dealership.

Abyat is a conglomerate of the big construction giants in Kuwait. So they dont really cater to individual needs. As far as Platform is concerned, i think they just wanted to give Abyat run for its money considering the timing of thier launch. ACE is the best when it comes to daily needs of a common man.

I love ace!! its a goldmine for random things that remind me of the states.. they have everything from clorox wipes to swifer

I love Ace. You are right – they have maintained or improved their standard of quality since I got here over a decade ago.
In 2003, every American contractor in Kuwait was at Ace buying items to go to Iraq – they were THE one-stop-shop for necessities like insect repellant, cots, and jerry cans.
Way to go, Ace! :)

Couple of years back when I was searching some philips torx screw driver and 4mm socket for changing screen of my PowerBook Ti. I could get from Ace. Few places like Bin Nisf were not having that.

I like Ace Hardware too.. they always have the randomest items! But I have been looking for the Tool Storage which ACE in the US sells but they always don’t seem to have it!

ace is indeed ace.
i built a pretty decent silent hard drive rig from random stuff for less than a couple kd.

ACE is the best !
I usaully go to ACE if I want to camp in the desert they have alot of good stuff there.
Marzouq, I think I saw the Tool Storage at ACE last year, try asking the guyz that work there.

My problem with ACE is that they are always out of stock! I like the place however it has stocking issues.

My problem with ACE is that I end up buying stuff I do not really need!
On the other hand, they have a good collection of high_pressure_hose that I could not even hope to find anywhere else..

Ace is the place! You just reminded me of how long its been since I passed by there to just idly look at the bbq’s and all the other random stuff that you never really need but always want.

I agree that they have a large variety of products, but did you know that for many items that are branded by ace hardware, i.e. gardening hoses etc, that are suppose to be covered by a certain period of guarantee are not valid in Kuwait. The guarantee’s are only for products sold in the US. In addition, the prices in Kuwait are almost double.. at least for what I have purchased.

ACE is is the PLACE for one stop shopping for almost everything. i love the place. linens, hardware, stationary, glue, swim pool supplies. just about everything. the people who work there are very friendly. I AGREE WITH A LOT OF THE COMMENTS ABOVE BUT WHAT OTHER CHOICES ARE THERE. & they are convenient. About Bin Nisef, if i cant find it @ ACE Bin Nisef is my second choice & then talk a walk down the block to the KDD for ice cream. i’m loving it..
