IKEA Kuwait website hacked

It seems someone hacked the local IKEA website. There is nothing there except for a message saying “Red Eye ownz you! – by Z4i0n”. [Link]

Thanks gunsmoke!

Red Eye is that stupid guy on their instruction manual, you know? those instructions you look at for 15 minutes, turn upside down, inside out, sideways,

  13. hamad says:

this isnt a hack of the actual website
its the dns entry re-routed to another ip address which will result in when you enter the name
it takes you to another server

    which

KISR should take all the blame for it

KISR is responsible for registering all .kw domains

seems they need a security overhaul

  14. hamad says:

    and actually
    this message

    red eye ownz you

is a security vulnerability due to certain cases
    which hackers look for
    to hit certain dns records

  15. hamad says:

    http://www.kisr.edu.kw/

    seems they have shut down
    their main webserver
which is the front end for the public

maybe they heard what i said
before i even say it :)

    sorry for multiple comments
    if still awaiting moderation
    add them into one

    sorry again

It has nothing to do with DNS records or diverting the domain to a different IP. If that was the case the other IKEA pages wouldn’t have been accessible, the guy just put up his own index.html file
That happened to me once here. Basically if you don’t update your software to the latest or install properly coded software then you are susceptible to being exploited.
