I beleive if you bring the dong with u on the same flight with the baggage u dont need any papers. Its only when you import the dog with cargo alone that u do.

To be honest I can't totally remember because it was a couple of years ago. The owner was coming into Kuwait on the same flight as the cats, and the reason I was involved was because by law she was only allowed to import two animals in her name so we put the third in my name (she was a new colleague). So I wasn't really involved with the preliminary paperwork - but I had to be there to "claim" the third cat in cargo. From what I can remember all we had was the import papers, but if you have the vaccination papers take them along just in case, or ask at the place you got the import permit from.

Yeah it's good that it's winter and the dog won't suffer in the heat while he waits to get out. They don't keep the animals indoors while they wait (they're in an open warehouse) and the three cats, who were quite old, were visibly suffering in the extreme heat.

kleio i also heard that its gonna take me 2 to 3 hours to get it out of the airport. did you need to take any other papers with you or just the import paper? like i dont need to take a vaccination paper etc.. with me right?

when i moved to kuwait i shipped my stuff and had to go pick them up from the cargo area. it was also august and it was really hot and it took forever for me to clear the stuff, so i know what u mean. but luckily its winter so it shouldnt be too hard on the dog.

I've had experience bringing pets into the country (for myself and most recently helping someone else bring 3 cats in). Getting the import certificate was easy (compared to usual stuff in Kuwait) - sure. But, when it came to getting her three cats OUT of the airport, it took three of us around 4 or 5 hours! The cats flew over in the cargo section of the plane so we had to go to the cargo area of the airport (which is practically all outdoors). The most incompetent people in the world work there, and we had to get about 200 signatures from about 20 different locations around the airport. I'm not saying that is necessarily what will happen in your case, but just to be safe set aside five hours of your day to expect to spend at the airport. And, try to be really nice to the guys at the entrance to the cargo area and maybe they'll let you take your car through to make things quicker. At least the weather's good now...it was August when I went! Anyway, good luck!

Easy experience?

You went to three different locations to get a 2kd stamp and a signature; It's plain retarded to me.

Easy = go to website, fill form, push enter.

I know it is considered easy compared to other crap in Kuwait but its still a messed up system.
