Duke Nukem Dialup was amazing, we used to connect the computers using the extension system in our house .. I believe we had the first home network in 1995/6. As for Fasttelco being back up in 3 days, its is highly possible (if they have decent backups of their servers). Its just a matter of getting the equipment and connecting the cables (crippled setup). To be fully operational and back to 100%, I think it is going to take at least a month (with careful planning and execution).
