Under this provision, currency defacement is generally defined as follows: Whoever mutilates, cuts, disfigures, perforates, unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, Federal Reserve Bank, or Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such item(s) unfit to be reissued, shall be fined not more than $100 or imprisoned not more than six months, or both. Folks this is what the US law says about the currency:

A picture does send a thousands words, however, KEMS did not mean harm in showing up a teared up 1kd note... They were trying to sell their services by telling people, that money spent on the net is going to be cut in half if you subscribe for a year.. Kudos to the guy who made the ad ,because in my own personal opinion, it is very creative. It might be insulting to others, but again, KEMS just wanted to use the ad to send a message.
