Krispy Kreme Training

krispy kreme behind the scene

This is why they are giving tons of donuts away for free at Marina Mall. The employees are currently training on how to make the donuts. In the picture above the employees are watching the donuts roll out of the machine while their trainer explains to them the process.

  4. 4. sean | October 15th, 2006 at 8:11 pm

  9. 9. Marzouq | October 15th, 2006 at 9:35 pm

This is going to be interesting! To say the least!

They are giving them for free for PR and bc the machines need to “break in”. The donuts will have a weird taste to them when they are made from a brand new machine. After about 10,000 donuts, then the machine will have donoughty taste.

kk need to pay you for the intensive publicity your giving them

  12. 12. Mark | October 15th, 2006 at 10:17 pm

only talking about kk because there is little else going on at the moment

  13. 13. jitaroo | October 15th, 2006 at 11:17 pm

has anyone thought about were the cost of the publicity is gonna come back from? they will definitly make doughnuts here 5x more expensive than the uk ones which are already more than the us ones.

    mark,
they actually were throwing away the test samples. I ate fottor with my some guys and wanted to see how KK was going and we found out that they were making doughnuts and couldnt be happier. We asked the Indian manager to give us a few sample, heck we even told him that we’ll buy some, but he decided that the trash was worthier than the customers.
He then told us that they will bring in some fresh ones from their factory and will distribute them to people at the Marina Mall at around 8. Anyways, I just wanted to share this interesting bit of information to ya’ll.

Yes thats true the Donuts are coming from the factory in Farwaniya and the truck parks behind Marks & Spincer at around 7:30 every day to unload the donuts, check it out ..2morow u can get a bag full of boxes if ur lucky

I like the smell of KK. When you have that first bite, it’s all good and you feel great. Then you get that sugar high and your head hits the roof. But after that 4th one you downed, you start to feel like Dumbo the Elephant.

Kuwaiti gluttony will reach a phenomenal high if KK has a drive-thru.

    *sigh*

umm… if they’re making the donuts in fairwaniya and bringing them in by truck, what’s the point of having the donut machine? Is it to make people *think* they’ve been made on the premises, wheras really you’re getting the factory ones iced with rat pee?

Talking of Kuwaiti gluttony - does anyone know if the “old” Burger King on Belajat St. beach is going to still be a BK when it’s finished? It looks wayyyyy too smart now.

I apologize for the use of caps but

    HOW DO I GET SOME!??!?!

  19. 19. WhoDunnIt | October 16th, 2006 at 9:28 am

    Hey Mike,
Go to Marina Mall and hang around the fountain. You’ll see these guys walking around with porta-kiosks on their backs pushing a trolley loaded with boxes of KK. I got 2 boxes last evening. Oh yea, they start 7pm onwards.
PS: If you wanna catch em as soon as they get in, take the starbucks exit (from the fountain) and watch the first exit on the left. At least, thats where they were coming in from yesterday ;)

  20. 20. Fonzy | October 16th, 2006 at 10:46 am

shit…. so u will find all sorts of things in those donuts!!

  21. 21. michael | October 16th, 2006 at 12:36 pm

Well. Let’s just say I hope you enjoyed last Eid ;)

KK has been making donuts in its commissary for the past one month.

Tweez, the only reason they didnt give out doughnuts that they were making at Marina was cause it was the first time they started the machines.Since production is automated, the machines have to be fully calibrated for them to make doughnuts upto KK standards. They would never give anyone doughnuts from test runs.I dont think people would want them either.

KK’s commissary is one of the cleanest in Kuwait. How do i know that? i’ve seen it and I know for a fact that they spend hours cleaning up,which is considered unusual in Americana.

Moocherx, the commissary is for specialized doughnuts and other products. They do have a donut machine, which is being setup at the moment, which will make the original glazed doughnuts fresh in the store. Also all the icing on the flavoured doughnuts will be done by hand in store.

    soory for the long comment.

moocherx the reson they are bringing the donunts from farwaniya is that the commissary they have at Marina is not ready yet..and the commissary at Farwaniya has more output capacity than the one at Marina yani its like a Factory.
