i think i hv seen them somewere! hmm…
Are there any buildings built in the 60′s that are still standing?
I think the building is still in Hawally. It is about 100-200 meters away from the signal of Hawally bridge going towards Jabriya from Salmiya.
Look at the wheels on that car! That’s just noice. =O
Life back in the 60s was pretty neat as my dad used to say. Back when there were no 3agad to make things worse as it is now. Kuwait rocked in the 60s and early 70s.
those buildings in shuwaikh. in jamal abdulnaser street facing qasr alsalam.
@ D: The I must be wrong, but I remember seeing this type of building in Hawally as well :S
Hawally =p
Very clean wheels for such dusty roads :)

that photo represents all the hope of 60′s/70′s kuwait with none of the crap that people try to peddle to us these days …. sigh.

life in the 60s here was amazing, kuwaitis dint hav their own currency, they used indian rupees!.
Those are my parents in the picture. I asked my mom where this was taken and she said Hawally/Nugra right down the street from the Andalus theatre (if I am not mistaken, the theatre was torn down a while back).
Indians. An essence of Kuwaiti culture since 1960. Where would this country be without them? Exactly.
Yah those houses are still up, this place is exactly in hamed al – salem street opposite the the american university of kuwait now.. the last time i passed by they were still there.
