Last night’s lightning
A reader called Haresh sent me the picture above which he took last night around 8:45PM. I checked and the picture isn’t retouched, its straight out of the camera. That looks like a pretty big lightning strike.
Picture was taken with an Olympus E-520 with an f-stop of 5.6 and shutter speed of 5 seconds. Location is Salmiya.

Seriously what a shot! He got that in a 5s shutter speed??? Thats one big strike.
So lucky, I kept the camera on the tripod facing the Sky, holding the remote in my hand waiting for the light, And I couldn’t catch any.

There was one particularly loud thunder. If I hadn’t known it was raining, I would be fetal positioned in my bath tub.
did anyone hear about buildings being struck frying the electronics?
I wonder where was the touchdown.
That sucker was probably the one that caused the electricity to trip in my building yesterday (in Salmiya).
