Mac&More Honoring Apple Warranty

Mac&More

I just got back from Mac&More in Marina Mall. Both me and Nat have problems with our MacBooks. She had a random shutdown problem plus issues with her keyboard. Me on the other hand I had the infamous MacBook discoloration plus my trackpad button was extremely messed up. Turns out if you purchased your Mac from Amazon or Apple.com they will honor the warranty. All you need to do is take the invoice with your MacBook and they will fix your problem.

Tonight we left Nats MacBook with them, it should be ready to pick up tomorrow. Also tomorrow if the technician is still there he will replace my MacBook keyboard and palmrest while I wait. I will try to take a before and after picture of my MacBook and post it here.

You shouldn’t have given it for RANDOM SHUT DOWN, they made an SMC FIRMWARE Update for it, it’s prefect for me now.

Most places in kuwait will help Mark. I know this as a fact, however how many are willing to properly honor it and exchange something faulty. thats the real question

Adam without an invoice proving she got it from amazon or apple.com it does make things difficult. if she had an invoice they would most probably replace it for her.

Wow that’s great, since I have my Macbook coming to me from Apple.com ;) C2D! And I hope not to get any issues with it but since a few months ago I had the hard drive frying issue on my Powerbook and I didn’t know where to fix it so I took it outside, I don’t want to do the same to my Macbook :) Hehehe so thanks for the heads up!

Yeah Mac and More honors the warrantee, and I thank them for that. Apple does the worst exchange plan I’ve ever heard of. I had to leave my Macbook for a day to get the serial number off the Superdrive, then it takes Apple a MONTH to approve the fix, then a MONTH later they get the part. Possible the worst service I’ve ever heard of. In the meantime I can’t use the Superdrive in my laptop. The Store should swap the superdrive when they get approval for the part, then take in the new superdrive when it comes in. To add insult to injury, I have to pay Duty or something to the tune of 10KD for the new drive for my BRAND NEW macbook. This isn’t even a used one, I opened the box and it didn’t work.

My “Switch” experience is possibly the worst I could even think of. What’s even sicker? I’m thinking of getting a Macbook Pro, so I can bootcamp into XP for games and have Mac applications. I don’t want to ditch Mac after having a bad experience, but man I’m getting close. How much are we expected to tolerate?

Strange, I called up Mac & More and asked them if they would honor the warranty on my MacBook which I’d bought from Amazon and they said no?! Maybe they’re only doing this on a case by case basis or for specific people but not as a store-wide policy.

I have just come from Mac & More. I went there because my battery went dead all of a sudden. It does not recharge anymore. From what i read support sites, this problem is fixed on the spot by replacing the battery (after a quick check, and the presence of Applecare). Here, they said that it would take 5-6 WEEKS for the battery to be replaced since I bought my Macbook from the states (Apple store).

I will be going to the states this summer, and would try my luck there.
