Make the Gulf Road safer with flexible lamp posts

I think Kuwait should replace the dangerous lamp posts on the Gulf Road with these flexible and much more safer ones. I posted about this 2 years ago but I didn’t have a video to accompany my post but I just found it now on YouTube so I thought I would share it with everyone. The safer lamp posts cost more but its not like Kuwait is going broke anytime soon. [YouTube]

thats a good point also. and what about the stone balls on the right hand side they recently added? Its extremely dangerous also for a car to hit them.
This is why I would also suggest that both sides of the gulf road have guard rails.

it would stop the cars from jumping the pavement and slamming into
    a) a tree
    b) a lamp post
    c) oncoming cars
    d) families barbecuing

yeah, it absorbs all the impact and protects the driver and i can’t imagine it being that more expensive.

well, i think the government is a little busy trying to put lights on every sign in kuwait! Didn’t anyone notice? it’s like they’re trying to make kuwait all luminating or something! They should consider more important things…

:: I believe that the problem is not with these road lamps its the SPEED. even if Kuwait bulit such things Teenager or some other “male - female” would increase their speed limit.

and btw.. what if a driver has a mini cooper or any small car ? it should smashs the car into a 2 halfs ! i mean check the video again see how the road lamp smashing the car.

Well they use these lamps in the US and in Europe so it must be for good reason…

About the convertible thats a good point but convertibles are the minority, isn’t it better to cater to the majority instead?

About mini’s and other small cars it doesn’t matter, the lamp post takes the form of the car

Mark u really think this is a good idea?! Within an hour of instalation all the lamp post will be down cuz everyone crashed into them .. plus if its at night it would be pitch black and more cars would crash into each other! Such things aren’t very parctical for the arab world where we find anything agaisnt the law is amusing and “cool”.

Keep steel. let Darwinism remove the idiot drivers.

I agree with Mark. The person who suggested those concrete balls is an idiot. They are not beautiful, no safe, and provide no protection for people on the beach. I’ve seen many accidents on Gulf Road where cars hit those concrete balls and flipped killing people in the car and pedestrians. I feel so bad for those who go jogging near The Scientific Center, it is so unprotected from the street.

I agree with Frankom. Cars shouldn’t be hitting the street lamps in the first place.

Kuwait is too poor to even have proper roads, how the hell is the govt going to get money to afford these?

oil doesn’t grow on dusty 3arabi palm trees you know.
