I also saw a meteorite once while i was out in the desert (a large meteor that survives the atmosphere and impacts the ground with a big flash of light) Both meteors and meteorites flash in the sky so quick within a matter of seconds. At first I though I was imagining things because I didn't sleep well. However, the next day on local news they said it was a Russian Satellite that fallen out of orbit and evaporating before it hit the ground. Anyway, this look like an airplane. The tail behind airplanes is actually water vapor not CO2.
