@Everyone…………..It must now be horribly clear to everybody with an investment portfolio – indeed, to anyone who watches the financial markets – that no country (Including Kuwait) or sector is safe from a bear market of the magnitude of the one we’re suffering through right now. When stocks get marked down en masse, as they have, literally everything drops. What’s more, there may be very little rationale for which stocks drop — or how much they drop by: When the wave of selling meets very few buyers, good stocks can easily fall more than bad ones. Keep this in mind!!!

They were sending money to the Branches…I am 110% sure.
Since there were so many w/d’s that day and there is a limit to the amount of money per a branch.

@klk, Dude….I’m not pushing the idea into your chain of thought…just something for everyone to think about.

1) Why would CBK allow uncovered deals?;
2) Why is it that GBK clients were not advised about Lehman deals..?and why just now?;
3) Why would the Bank allow clients to perform (un)covered forex derivative deals during a time like this?.. don’t they have analysts sitting in and churning out models?

Outcome>>>Kuwait’s central bank proposes a bill to the parliament to guarantee deposits in the country’s commercial banks. From now on, CBK will have all the Bank’s by their nuts……

So its not ALL crap… dont you think there might be some truth in there?

C’mon you guys…the educated mass has to be really stupid to believe that Gulf Bank suddenly figured out that an over budgeted derivative deal was not covered and now because of the global crisis, they are taking advantage of allowing customers to make such deals where they can turn around and say “Dont worry, because of whats happening in the world financial markets, we can say that it was a poorly analyzed deal; and Central Bank will HAVE to cover us…so chill baby!
