My Sushi KW experience

Sushi KW

I called up Sushi KW around 1PM and placed my order to be delivered at 4:30. I ordered the Spicy Shrimp, Snow, TamTam, Mix Maki, Salmon Sushi and Crab Sushi.

My order arrived on time which was cool since I was starving. The packaging was decent and came with soy sauce, a spicy mayo dip, ginger and chopsticks. I quickly chowed my way through everything but when I was done I wasn’t impressed. From the bunch I ordered I think Snow was the worst while everything else tasted just average. The price is cheap, the whole thing cost me only KD11.250 but I would rather pay a bit more and get something from Wasabi instead.

On the other hand i didn’t enjoy it at all. The rice was overcooked and there was too much of it everywhere, and there was a pretty weird taste in most of the rolls we ordered..

Mark, Which Kei? Because the Kei in Salhiya is, in my opinion, far better than the one in Marina!

My favourite is also Wasabi. We eat there once a fortnight at least – and I’ve tried their Abu Halifa, Kuwait City and Bida branches. Very uniform quality.

    Now I’m hungry!

  18. 18. Mark | September 30th, 2008 at 12:29 am

My bad experience with Kei was at Marina.

  19. 19. Ansam | September 30th, 2008 at 12:40 am

I like Edo, Genki, Wasabi! In that order

  20. 20. Bu Yousef | September 30th, 2008 at 12:42 am

You should still visit the Salhiya one then. Never a hair out of place there!

The clients, and therefore the management, are very different to Marina.

  21. 21. Mark | September 30th, 2008 at 12:44 am

Yeah been there twice before. I used to visit the marina one since it’s near my house.

When I miss japanese food, I go to Kei and eat chirashi sushi. Other creative sushi are not really what we have in japan although I have to admit some of them are tasty.
But people, I gotta tell you, japanese food is not all about sushi & tempra! We’ve got LOTS OF nice food other than sushi!

guys, you should try the REAL Japanese Food @ The Shogun Lounge, it’s at the Palms Hotel. aside from the authentic makis and sushis, they also have the popular Donburri…

    and they deliver !!!!!!!!!!

In my opinion the ‘Sushi Club’ has the best sushi in Kuwait . It’s a small restaurant but the sushi is absolutely amazing. Try American Maki and the Rainbow Maki (my favourite two makis) you really won’t be disappointed.
