I was just going to buy a BMW 328i by end of this week. This has now got me thinking. I was wondering though, for buying a brand new off the showroom, surprising how they never offered any comprehensive warranty? Shouldn't that have covered it? If its an overheating problem, and their radiator valve leaks on DAY 1, then it should technically be covered as its their fault. Comprehensive warranty = PARTS + ELECTRONIC FAILURE. Right?

Keep me updated as I'm in two minds now.

This really force me to write my experience with BMW Dealer in Kuwait. My 735Li 2008 model met with an accident. The rear left tyre hit badly on a roundabout pavement and the car was taken to the dealer for repair. Same thing..they said no replacement vehicle and it was with them for almost a month!! they did not have the required spareparts it seems!!
They told me since it was a self accident the insurance ( I paid 600KD for an year..at that time they convinced my that it is fully covered)will cover only 1000KD and 50% of the remaining amount. and I landed up paying approximately 750-800KD. When I demanded to see the spareparts they replaced (because I wanted to make sure what had costed 2400KD!!), they told me the insurance company took it away!!
They really do not care!!

Sorry to hear that story. Not that it makes you feel better, but BMW Dubai - AGMC - is just as crappy. Completely incompetent, and the worst service you can imagine. Cannot believe that the manufacturer put up with this as it hurts the brand. This is only my second BMW but it will most definetely be the last.

Hey man, forget about BMW, the mechanical seal of the fuel pumps, cooling water pumps are sucks. The BMW don't know how to design mechanical seal thats why it can leak anytime. They design it ( I think ) considering low temperature in Europe. Get a Nissan man. Perhaps a Navara.

To the guy who has "terrible experience with BMW..":
Take my advice (even I'm woman) Forget BMW buy an AUDI or a Hummer H3 Alfa (when will be available in the Gulf countries)! I have an Audi A6 quattro 2.8l top of the range from 2000 with gulf specification is working like a watch and I never had any problem with it. Pay attention what you're buying Gulf specification is mandatory for this countries!

a real good one: I was trying to purchase a BMW 740 new.
Being a very stupid prospective new customer, I took the freedom to contact BWM here in Kuwait by phone. UUUps, big mistake. Asking for a possible appointment with a sales person in advance (not to waste more time then needed), I was told: Maybe today, but come here before 11:30 because then I want to go for lunch.

I do not think that I have to comment on that, or?

Is Audi or Mercedes or Jaguar here any better?

Man BMW should really think about taking their dealership from Alghanim he's spoiling BMW's reputation !

Just imagine today I took my car to the dealer to change its oil and I discovered that there is an oil leak ! the guy that was changing the oil didn't tell me that I discovered it myself !

so guess what after they repair the leak they'll have to change the oil again ! so I just paid 30 kd for nothing ! They told me you have to take the car to the old garage and I know my car will stay for ages there ! not to mention that it would cost me 600 kd + !

so I took my car to a garage that my friend told me about Its called Ritag Garage Its facing Sun City I bought all the parts from the dealer and took them to this guy he told me it would cost me 120 kd for labor and it would be ready tomorrow morning . See the difference ;)

I Just keep on thinking doesn't Alghanim get fed up with all the money he's making ??

Just imagine a navigation computer costs 950 kd ! in Germany its like 300 ! am I buying an aircraft navigation or something ?? I keep wondering !

The latest navigation CD costs 115 kd ! lol

I had a similar experience in Dubai. Though the damage was not as bad. I didn't complain, took the car in a second time. Had them unknowingly confirm that they charged me for a job that wasn't done and now I'm giving them hell for it.
