Name this DJ
So a friend calls me up and tells me to tune into 99.7 at around 7PM. He tells me there is this DJ, shes new, been on the radio now for maybe 6 months and she sucks really bad, like worse than Dr La Bouche. So I was in the car on the way to have dinner when I decided to turn the dial to 99.7. Once the song Barbie Girl finished playing (yeah they still play it) the DJ came on and thats when I wished Barbie Girl would play again. OK maybe she wasn’t THAT bad but she was bad, she had an annoying voice and she wasn’t make any sense. What is she doing on the air and who is she? Under normal circumstances I would check the official 99.7 website except that their site is still suspended. Understandably, this is one bad patch 99.7 are going through but I am led to believe anyone who is anybody at Super Station is being put through the paces, even as we blog at the Ministry of Sound in London where they are to undergo 5 year intensive training in RJing and news reading.

this docent sound as bad as that gay DJ that used to work there and now works at 103,7 , he sounds so feminine and sucks at English which is properly the reason why he is now at 103.7

I have bled from the ears many times when listening to the crappy Dj’s on 99.7. Linda thinks she is Dr. Phil, Labouche babbles on about nothing, i am sure this new Dj you are talking about is on the same level. Where the hell do they get these people?

You’re right Mark – is that the one with a voice that cracks and rasps, and pitches up and down all the time, like she has a continual sore throat?Definitely not a voice for radio. She also has a strange sense of humour, OK for the 3-4am shift maybe, but not for ‘prime time’. Personally, I think they should give more time to that news guy – can’t remember his name. At least he sounds like he should be on radio.

Why can’t there be an amazing radio station.. with professional??!! Growing up my mother was a DJ in the radio (Not in kuwait) and we would spend hours and hours and hours in music stores getting LP’s in London, she was very passionate about it! not anyone can do it!
Doesn’t she sound like she is talking to her self in the shower??!

Thanks to my CD player and the internet, I don’t have to listen to the radio anymore and when I do it’s The Tom Joyner Morning Show or Hits ‘n Oldies (I think it’s 101.7FM now).
I did, however, catch a little earful of the DJ you’re talking about and it seems she took DJ’ing lessons from that annoying American woman in the morning, Linda? Lisa?
Are the other DJ’s around? Dr. LaDouche or that English woman?

Her name is DJ 3orouj. However, since the name is weird, I think it’s a pseudonym.
I agree, she sucks big time. The music she plays is even worse.

The girl in the radio clip has been on the kuwaiti english tv channel hosting for some years now, her family name is anjiri, her family has apparently dis-owned her.. she’s a great gal, i once met her.

My goodness me…..I have tears in my eyes now…..lol….but seriously, i can see that this was two months ago…..what do you guys think of my show now…..please let me know how I can improve it without being insulting…..am looking forward to your comments…..and the name is Uruj Saeed…..not a pseudonym, its my real name…..!!

HI Uruj, Well for starters, your show is definitely not bad. I enjoy ur show every evening on my way back from work. The music’s good. The playlists are nice.. Ur Birthday song is kinda cool. ur facts and titbits are very interesting.
However, try to be less perky. The problem is that ur trying too hard to sound cool. You are cool so just be confident about ur abilities and be ur normal self.
Overall, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!

Hi Uruj,
For starters, lose that ‘Radio voice’. You know where you change pitch 3 times in one syllable.. That only works if you’re a kiddie show host.
Don’t confuse that with being lively & upbeat… nothing wrong with that.. but you could do that speaking normally.
It may help preparing in advance with a show plan… so you know where you’re headed. That’d also help you with selecting a playlist of compatible songs. A mish-mash of everything ends up being just that.
And the jokes… timing, timing, timing.
Being open to constructive criticism will only improve you and hopefully make you one of the best RJ’s at RKFM, right up there with Adeeb Shuaiber & Vicky.

hey give her a chance i don’t know why all the fuss about this, she won’t improve in one night she just found about how many people don’t like her style. if she says she wants to improve don’t be judgmental and slice her throat after one night, at least give her a week.

My comment is about “Adeeb Shuaiber”; hope he keeps his day job because quite frankly he sucks on radio & television. Sounds & looks ‘Queer’ as well. Glad he got slapped from one of his pupils at ‘his’ school. Long deserved!!!
