New Lebanese Restaurants
I don’t know why the sudden influx in Lebanese restaurants but there are three new places that are opening up. BuzBerry posted about the new one in Avenues called Leil Nhar, I think thats even open already. There are two more I know of also opening up. Abdul Wahab a famous Lebanese restaurant is opening in place of Fuddruckers on the Gulf Road. I actually can’t believe they shut down that Fudds, they were the first restaurant to open up on the Gulf Road. Another new Lebanese restaurant thats opening is Karam. They’re also really famous in Lebanon and they’re opening up next to Hard Rock Cafe.

What we need is an influx of fast food joints. We need the following please: Wendy’s, A&W, Jack in the Box, White Castle, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Arby’s, Cheese Cake Factory, In-N-Out and Taco Bell. Thank you!

What about a Lebanese fast food place! Meias – at the Avenues Food Court. You posted about it already – maybe you should give it a shawarma review.
And whatever happened to the burger challenge thing?
3. Mark | October 28th, 2008 at 6:31 pm
I posted about Al Mayass, Meias in the Avenues is just a cheap copy not the original.

All of them franchises of restaurants in Lebanon…. why limit ourselves to UK/American franchises?! And do we really need more fast food joints to contribute to obesity epidemic?!
Don’t hold your breath for In ‘n’ Out… they barely exist outside the West Coast

We NEED more fast food joints. That is the only way we will ever top the worlds fastest countries list.
But seriously we NEED more fast food joints. I can’t have McDonalds everyday, its boring.

^^^
You should start a Hummos challenge. First on the list Hummos with Lahmah and Snober from Kababji. It is the best. Their taboolah is also great.
I think Burj Al-Hammam is the best Lebanese food restaurant. Also its interior design, the seats and the view is simply magnificent.

i dont like snobar so will have it without. my favorite hummos with lahmah is from villa fayrouz express. you know, i feel like a kebab sandwich from kababji now. they have an offer anyway, 2 sandwiches, coke and fries for KD1,750

Unfortunately White Castle (which from what i heard, sell heavenly burgers) is exclusive to the east coast states, they wouldnt open anywhere else, not even in east coast canada :(

Research it Mark. I think Kuwait is way up there in terms of the number of resturants per capita. On these basis alone, we may have more resturants than New York city and Paris combined, and I’m talking about numbers, not quality.

In N Out will be an impossible joint to bring over. I would give my right arm for it to open in Kuwait.

I miss the chicken bowl from taco and also the blackened chicken sandwich from CheeseCake Factory
I dont think CheeseCake Factory will open anytime soon from what I heared they had a very bad experience in KSA

I think the avenues will have more restaurants than people, they will end up serving their own staff.

I am with you mark i wish they open Arbys again iam dreaming of it and also Red Lopester its the best in US for me and iam wondering why they dont open it her , regarding the lebanees restorants i think the problem her in kuwait is that they dont use fresh ingrediants like in lebanon and also their meet is australian which taste bad
21. Chirp | October 29th, 2008 at 12:44 am
Nooooo!! Why are they closing the Fudds on gulf st! that is so sad :(
22. Yahoo | October 29th, 2008 at 12:55 am
Who wants these bad food restaurants that trust me are not succeeding here in the US. Like white castle go online and read the comments people wont give that food to their dogs do you believe that. Arbys hahaha thats even worse. Wendys well ok but mcdonalds is much better. These Lebanese restaurants are much better healthier and have a better atmosphere. This is just my opinion.
23. Abid | October 29th, 2008 at 1:50 am
Of course…because not enough shitty fast food exists right?
24. .grg | October 29th, 2008 at 2:55 am
Yahoo is absolutely right, here in north america these restaurants are not succeeding at all, everybody would rather go to a proper dinner and a have proper meal and end up spending the same amount of money. Talking about wendys, its gross their bugrers taste so artificial and greasy, fucking disgusting!! I hear however that white castle burgers are a legendary, would personally love to try em. Mcdonalds remains the most decent fast food chain, but its actually worse than the q8 (opinion of 6 people that tried it in both kuwait and north america)
25. organic kuwait | October 29th, 2008 at 7:11 am
best lebanese in kuwait is maijana in koot mall.. thier hummus tastes exactly like marks & spencers!!
26. Randy | October 29th, 2008 at 8:09 am
Kuwait does not need Red Lobster, Olive Garden, or A&W. Those places really suck and offer nothing that you can’t get out of the freezer cases at Sultan Center.
Oliver Garden’s food almost tastes like cardboard covered in sauce. Red Lobster is just a bigger version of Long John Silver’s. A&W can’t hold a candle to any of the burger boys currently in Kuwait.

Mark .. forget the fast food joints and check these out.
When i went tothe states i fall in love with these restaurants:
- Grand Lux Cafe – A sister restaurant of Cheese Cake Factory
- Ra A high end yummy Japanese restaurant
- Buca di beppo Very yummy family style Italian restaurant
- Lopez The yummiest Mexican food i have ever tasted
And when i went to Dubai lately we found this El Chico mexican food that made us really happy, the table side preppeared guackamoli was really good. we need good Mexican food in Kuwait !!
28. rashisha | October 29th, 2008 at 9:53 am
TACO BELL….. OLIVE GArden and Mimi’s CAfe!!! YUMMMMMMMMMMMM
29. KBM | October 29th, 2008 at 10:13 am
I’m thinking Arby’s.. Yummmy!! oh and not to mention Taco Bell. Truth be said, we need Mexican cuisine, somewhere NOT international, just plain Mexican.. authentic.. Aaah I’m starving. I’m feeling a hot dog, for lunch where do you guys suggest?
30. pearls | October 29th, 2008 at 10:57 am
I want to see Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Taco Bell
31. rampurple | October 29th, 2008 at 11:00 am
What Kuwait lacks is good Chinese restaurants… all we seem to have are these lousy chinese places who seem like they put ketchup on everything and call it either kindou or sweet and sour
From all the fast food joints you mentioned I miss Arby’s :(
Fat chance of getting In N Out anytime soon…. several people have tried already… same goes with cheesecake factory… Red Lobsters is simply another shrimpy… frozen sea food which makes not sense when you live in a country were you can get fresh sea food at real good prices
and btw… I heard of another Lebanese restaurant opening up real soon at the avenues called Al 2anater (?)
also, to my knowledge fast food joint Meais has nothing to do with Mayas in Shik… Mayas is more of an armenian restaurant whereas meais is a fast food lebanese place… similar to kabab-ji

OMG! I second that motion about Jack-In-The-Box!!!! I’m from Texas and I was just telling my husband yesterday about how much I miss their chicken breast strips with buffalo sauce, and their crunchy tacos! I miss Taco Bell too!!!!!! :’(

35. fwz | October 29th, 2008 at 4:49 pm
nd also we need Five Guys cuz i think it’s better than In-N-Out nd Jack in the Box is absolutely terrible nd the best thing ever is Wendy’s it’s just the BEST
36. Musaed | October 31st, 2008 at 12:27 pm
I really wish to see Tim Hortenz .. it is the best of all.
37. michelle | October 31st, 2008 at 3:10 pm
I am glad to see such avid eaters out there. Yes! we need a Taco Bell, and a Wendy’s.
38. bored | November 4th, 2008 at 8:31 pm
enoouughh with all these franchises why dont you people create your own !! be innovative be creative for f..k sake !! start your own place rather than franchizing anything they have in the America all these fast food places such as red lobster suck!! god bless shrimpy !!
39. julio | December 8th, 2008 at 1:39 pm
We def. don’t need all these restaurants, especially, Jack in the box, which is considered homeless food here in the u.s, it’s not even food, just some edible piece of crap. tho I have to agree, In N out opening in Kuwait would be nice, but since it’s only available in Cali, Nevada, and AZ, I don’t think the chances of that happening are likely. Kudos to the Lebanese restaurants opening back home, that’s what we should encourage.
