Nokia E71 is out in Kuwait!

A reader just emailed me an informed me that the Nokia E71 is out in Kuwait and available in Sharq. There is a store there called Phone Center and they are selling it for around KD170 depending on your haggling skills. Their phone number is 2454022.

Update: After I posted this I left the house and was heading to Avenues when I got a phone call from the Nokia dealer in Fanar. I had put my name down on a waiting list for the E71 and once the Fanar branch got the phone they called me. It was around 9PM, they had just received two E71’s and they told me to come in and pick it up so I turned around and headed back to Salmiya. They were selling it for KD159 which was cheaper than what the phone was being sold for in Sharq. So far the phone is really really great and the Nokia dealer really surprised me, I was actually expecting them to forget about me and never call me once the phone came in but they actually called me right away, really great service. Thank you!

Update2: Mac users, if you want to use the E71 with iSync follow this link, someone made a plugin that will get it working. [Link]

    OH MY GOD i can’t believe it!
    Mark i swear i called the main FCC (Nokia) branch yesterday and asked the guy abt e71 and his reply to me was: “wallah ma 3indina 5abar 3an il e71, yimkin yo9al a5r ishahar aw ishahar il yay !”
    so was he lying ? i’m going to call tomorrow inshallah and complain : @ i’m so so pissed off !

    i know but how come did he not know that they will get them the day after ? i mean i called him 1 day before they received the phone so it is impossible that they do not know abt the shipping !

    The white one is not released yet and it will be released later .. and what i know is that hte white one is a special edition

    Nope, the buttons are actually feel nicer. not as cramped as i was expecting it to be. The menu system is super fast, everything is much snappier. Loads of customizable features btw, more than before. First mod for me will be replacing the bilingual keyboard with an English only version.

    Mark do u know a website where i can download free softwares for my nokia e71 ? .. i just downloaded the msn messenger ..
    BTW if u want the mms and wap settings from Zain u can call them and ask them the sttings for E90 because they dont have the settings for e71 yet .. and the E90 is the one i tried it ..

    Mark what i know is that all nokia E90 softwares will work with the e71 but im not sure of the e61 unless its a S60 3rd edition device ..

    Mark if so then it will work .. maan this phone is amazing ! its really better than e90 and e61i ! ill try to find more softwares and e-mail u the links .. check this website its really cool .. it has a camera detector for e71 and if u pass by a camera any camera in kuwait with ur e71 gps on then it will give u an alert before u pass by ! thats really cool .. !! http://www.arabnokia.com u have to download the software and its same as n95 software just download and save it then everything works perfectly ! no more TICKETS MARK !!!!!!

    Nothing will beat the iphone as a multimedia phone. But practicality wise I always preferred the E61i and now the E71

    I had the same encounter with FCC. Called them and the guy told me two to 3 weeks before it arrives. he actually had no idea. I’m calling every 10 min now to reserve a phone! I’m so fucking excited!

    Shady: compared to my previous phone its louder but honestly my previous phone had an issue i think with the speaker anyway from all the drops so its not a fair comparison.

    i had the same issue with the speaker, also another friend complained from the same problem that’s why i wanted to make sure it’s solved in the E71 :) so is the camera better ??

    Regarding the MSN Messenger for E71????
    I just got a E71 and Windows Live was already in the “installations” I installed it – but still it pops up and wants me to pay for 30 days?
    Do you have any comments on that?

    How’s the GPS on the E71, especially in Kuwait ? I’ll be moving into Kuwait for a while and have been warned that street signs are rare and cars navigations arent that good either. what you reckon ? details appreciated..adios.
