Old photo of a gas station

This is a new photo Eng.Aljamea has uploaded onto his flickr account. The previous one was the Gulf Road picture and this time its a picture of a gas station. There is no date mentioned but I guess it could be the 60’s. [Picture]

This looks like early 60’s, maybe 61-62. I would venture to guess it’s the gas station in Shuwaik (residential), the one that is opposite Sahat Alalam (not far from Sheraton roundabout). I think it’s still there.

being an american and coming to live in kuwait, one of the big things that sucks is not having shopping marts at the gas stations here

@ 5: Please, for the love of God, can we stop imposing capitalistic ideas coming from your part of the world on Kuwait?

Great pic: looks astonishingly fresh despite the heat wave this country experiences! Watan El Habibi~

Hell, I’d happily forego the kwik-marts if they were offered just to simply go into a gas station, pay and be able to leave promptly w/o waiting in a que being cut off by rude bastards..
