It’s unethical don’t you think? It’s quite sad isn’t it?
2. mishref | October 13th, 2007 at 3:20 am
No I don’t think. Completely legal and a great idea!.

SWS i noticed in your blog you forgot to mention that MP Dr.Waleed Al-Tabtabaie was asking cooperation from the Ministry of Interior to black list of employers who mistreat their domestic helpers and urged stiff penalties for physical abuse.
Oh by the way in case you missed it or by some chance it slipped your mind.

How’s it sad? I think this is a pretty good idea, all in all.
8. Lord Raj | October 13th, 2007 at 7:04 am
hmmm, its not a bad idea at all. I like the IDEA…. of course, the webpage sure has its problems though, n its kinda funny,
ENJOY YOURSELF by searching for home labor?(just HOW kinky do you think we are?)
The ABOUT US page.. OMG!!
“if you CARE abt any of kind of labor, press details”???
They sure put up a lot of helpful hints for navigation.. eh
“When clicking the name or logo with the mouse” … as opposed to clicking it with ????
n did anybody figure out what the hell did they mean by the link Modern Women ?? </b?
the obvious spelling mistakes (n there are a lot of those). -
Emplimented, house MADE, srElanka.. etc.
besides, i didnt know that Madras was a separate country from India.. (Nationality thing…just because they come from a different state doesnt mean that they have a different nationality - Its still the same country.)
9. Lord Raj | October 13th, 2007 at 7:10 am
All said n done, In my opinion, Its definitely not SAD or UNETHICAL n definitely doesn’t warrant a change in the labor laws of Kuwait.
Im not sayin that the labor laws dont need to be amended. Sure they do..

First .. the website sucks big time !!
The idea is worth a shot, but its NOT professional in a remotest sense.
Such ideas need delicate and professional presentation, not idiotic.

Ok, technically it’s not “illegal” probably in Kuwait, but then first the legality of this tells how condescendant, arrogant, and nazi-like are Kuwaitis (I don’t think they think much higher of Lebanese), and second, NOT “illegal” does not mean NOT immoral. Let’s see what happens when the oil fields dry out.

Oh and just a quick note, go to the website and notice how they spelled the nationalities:
NeBal, Habasha [for Ethiopia], BangladIsh, ….
Eno good that India is spelled exactly like it’s pronounced. What bunch of retards designed that?!
13. mocman | October 13th, 2007 at 9:54 am
House Made???? WTF???
14. mathew | October 13th, 2007 at 11:27 am
how do you ‘enjoy’ yourself by searching for home labor ?
the designer and proof reader for that website should be shot !

Was there any Kuwaiti maids available or drivers? I’d love to have one because they make me laugh with their funny little ways. Mind you they need to be shown discipline or they get a bit above themselves.

If you think my last comment was offensive, you’re right , it was. The point is the TONE used to communicate is important. There is nothing wrong with an employment agency as such but the website under discussion does not use any level of professionalism. It talks of human labour(beings) as a commodity much as a supermarket would sell rice. If people can’t see why this is offensive then it says a lot about them.

I have no problem with the site or what it offers !
I have a problem with the shopping cart it self !!! It should not be used here …
18. Maya // مايا | October 13th, 2007 at 1:09 pm
Sweet lord! They can’t even spell!
19. sws | October 13th, 2007 at 1:43 pm
I have a problem with the ‘Cart’, I have a problem with showing pictures of the labour expats, I believe the pictures should be shown only if the ‘viewer’ asks for it through email. I personally wouldn’t want a recruitment agency to have my C.V on their website available for everyone to see, discretion is the idea here and not what the website offers.

- It did not slip my mind. There are many ways to serve the domestic labour issue, it starts by applying a law for domestic labour (which does not exist) and moving domestic ‘Labour’ to its rightful ministry instead being under the umberella of the ministry of Interior.

It is about time to have a proper regulatory body for foreign labor.
21. Marzouq | October 13th, 2007 at 3:13 pm
That is really messed up..
The problem in Kuwait is that they don’t know how to regulate.. they just ban or they let it all go.
22. Soul | October 13th, 2007 at 3:58 pm
I agree with Marzouq.
No mode of regulation. Its either ON or OFF.
The site displays how horrifying is the outlook of those whomsoever is the owner/manager of the website, about the labor which is presented.
Its pathetic !
Its not a new thing in Kuwait, just that it got online.
