P-51 Mustang
I am extremely tempted to buy the RC plane pictured above and get into the hobby. It looks fantastic and comes ready to fly meaning I don’t need much to get it up and running. Price wise its also very affordable costing KD124 on Amazon. I’m just worried summer is already here and outdoor activities season is over. [Amazon]
Note: The plane is 1.28m long and 1.48m wide. Its gas powered and comes with a flight simulator software which will help you learn how to fly the plane on the computer first. Also comes with an adapter that will connect your radio controller (pictured above) to the computer to use with the flight sim. More details on this plane can be found here. [Link]

I own a P51 from Hangar 9. I started off with the PTS version of it too. It taught me to fly. As far I can tell from our flying club, this is one of the best planes around to get you started and beyond. Once you are done with the stock prop, changing to a 11 by 8 will give you amazing result. All the best!

I liked the concept of the flight sim you can use with your controller
Because the first thing that came to mind was a future post describing a horrid plane crash :P (Was being over-pessimistic…)

You will crash it during the first flight (everyone does). There are cheaper ones in Kuwait (for about 100KD or so) for beginners. Start with the cheap one and make your way up. Check shipping cost. I wanted to buy one from the States for my nephew but shipping to Kuwait was too much.

BoBader this is a cheap one and for beginners. the ones in kuwait that cost kd100 are like fugly. this weighs around 4KG so shipping shouldn’t be much.

Mark, with gas engines u need not worry about the weather… its the nitro engines which flame out…
Also, this may seem for beginers but its not… u need a high wing plane which is for beginners and very easy to handle…i’m not saying u wont be able to handle this….but the right way to get into the hobby is to do the right things 1st… also the simulator tht comes with it might not be all tht realistic so dont rely on tht….

I was worried about the weather for me not the plane :D
Anyway before choosing this plane I checked online and read a lot of reviews and this is a beginners plane thats very easy to handle. Originally when it got released a lot of trainers had their doubts but after testing (and you can read first hand experiences online) it proved to be a good starter plane. Although its not a high wing plane its very stable. Also, the simulator isn’t realistic at all, its very basic, its just supposed to give you an idea of how it is to fly a plane. You still need an instructor.

This is a trainer which can later on be modified to perform sports maneuvers. I learnt on this just like many others I know who had zero hours before that. Dont worry. This is a good trainer.

Mark, when you said you were worried about summer the only thing that came to mind was being outside in excruciating heat.Lol @ #9 comment about the engine not being a problem in 45-50 DEGREES heat during summer.

It will be a bit hard to convert from RCcars to planes it is tricky since you had 2 channels and now it is 5 channels atleast. Try the new G4 rc sim you can get that from amazon. Then get a high wing trainer so you can get used to the basics of flight, the mustang is fast and has a tail wheel which somewhat makes takeoffs and landings harder.

Fuel Plane Suck get you an electric and have fun with it Plus why don’t you try a trainer first cause these mustangs are really hard to maneuver
try anything with a high wing Not like this Mid wing

yup but still man this plane sits on its lower back so you might face problems landing it only my .02 cents

I bought the same one it doesn’t fly that well if you are a beginner you should buy a plane with wings on top other then that you should buy plains from kyosho there much better
