P0ach and Blushberry on Watan TV

Watan TV interviewed the bloggers p0ach and Blushberry about blogging in Kuwait the other day and now the full interview is available on YouTube to watch. One thing I think Watan TV should have done was actually display the url’s of the blogs on the screen instead of just the blog titles. So instead of writing just “4th Ring Road” they should have had www.4thringroad.com under it to make it easier for the viewers to check out. Here is the interview split into two parts:

Wow Im surprised they didnt ask you for an interview.

You’re actually famous and your blog actually contributes and most especially to expatriates.

Prolly because they’re Kuwaiti and there being a lack of let’s just say ‘talent’ + inspiration.

Could you imagine if they did a segment on bakeries here?

    Chaos would ensue.

  2. q8teacher says:

I think that Jassim is kinda cute :) but I couldnt understand anything he said (me no speakee arabie). Care to give me a summary?

What is the name of his blog?

  3. q8teacher says:

LOL clock — hilarious about the bakeries:) There was be some sort of world record going on of number of bakeries per capita :)

  4. Mark says:

clock: they probably didn’t ask me for an interview because its an arabic show and its also highlighting local kuwaiti talent.

    q8teacher: http://www.blushberry.com

  5. clock says:

    q8teacher:

    jasem’s blog = http://p0ach.com/
    abdulla’s blog = http://www.blushberry.com/

Basically they were talking about how their blogs are the rising stars of the kuwaiti blogging scene, how they’re contributing to society, bringing small businesses to the spotlight (ie cupcake shops, nail salons), etc.

  6. blushberry says:

Mark Thanks dude for the post ;) ..

    q8teacher: http://www.blushberry.net .. not .com

  7. Mark says:

    oops yeah i meant .net

clock: you got the blogs the other way around. watan should definitely have added the links on the screen

  8. Q8path says:

Wish the best for Jassim and Abdullah.

  9. Yeni says:

The interviewer looks like she is constipated, or is she trying to amp up her sex appeal? FAIL.

  10. Omar says:

HAHA, She always looks like that. She also talks in a very fake way. She is trying to sound like Hayfa :)

  11. [T]iffany says:

Bravo.. Regardless of the fact that they were quite nervous.. Bravo

  12. Holla says:

Interviewing local bloggers? what next, interviewing local gamers?
Kuwait is really starved for real people with real achievements. This is pathetic in so many ways.

  13. D3RT says:

2 thumbs up for Holla comment.

  14. Omar says:

O’ Holla, a regular Statler & Waldorf rolled into one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statler_and_Waldorf

  15. clock says:

I’d pay good money for them to interview holla

  16. clock says:

The segment could be titled ‘A Day in the Life of Holla: the Outlook of an Optimist in Kuwait’

  17. Omar says:

Why are my comments moderated? I’m not being offensive.

  18. Omar says:

O’ Holla, a regular Statler & Waldorf rolled into one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statler_and_Waldorf

  19. Omar says:

Ok, it seems that if you have a link in your post it gets moderated. Fair enough. Please ignore my double post.

  20. Khalid says:

    allah ya36eehom il 3afya :)

  21. Mir says:

What I really like about Watan TV and Taw el leil is the fact that they are not afraid to veer away from the norm when it comes to interviews.

I mean interviewing bloggers to me is much more interesting than interviewing actors whom I know way too much as it is for my liking.

  22. Realist says:

What’s wrong with interviewing bloggers? It’s nice and fresh. All the rest of the people they interview are boring hypocritical politians.

  23. Abdullah says:

Mark, there is a shout out from me to you on the second video.

I asked the control people to post links of many people including:

you, somecontrast, buzzberry, 4thringroad, myslef and jassim (there are more too)

    unfortunately, none was mentioned.

Aside from that, there was alot to discuss yet time was not on my side. Yet, all is good.

Thank you for posting this (although i hate seeing my face LOL)

A big thank you to everybody else who watched/was there/supported the cause.

  24. Q80BOY says:

  25. Abdullah says:

Q80boy, LOL man I was sick, my nose was RUNNING and I had to wipe it out everytime the camera went off :P BO Kalthoom :P

  26. Thanks for putting it up Mark. I was kinda’ bummed that I missed it. Great job guys!

I’ve been to school with JB. Small world. Smaller Kuwait.

  27. Holla says:

hehehe Omar, Statler and Waldorf were the only muppets i thought were cool when i was a kid, that and the crazy rock n roll ogre one.

  28. q8teacher says:

Mark, I spent a good part of the afternoon checking out all the local blogs in English. Yours is BY FAR the best, most entertaining, articulate, and unique. Thanks man :)

  29. Mish says:

They rocked the show :D Thumps up (Y)
Mark about the Url’s, both abdulla and jassim didn’t agree to reveal their blog names until 5 min before the interview. so the Url thing wasn’t planned, and therefor it wasn’t on display.
they are definitely great bloggers and deserves to be interviewed on Tv :D

  30. Halla Bol! says:
