I have the same phone!

And, incidentally, I love my blue 2G 4GB mini for the same reasons mentioned above.

I am currently using my wifes shuffle to listen to music but it feels weird without a screen. it feels like i am in a room with no lights on.. not a very comfortable feeling. my wife uses the mini at work and shuffle when she works out. i got my mini because of the last thing u said which is "choosing your songs". With my regular iPod i used to dump everything on it, with the mini I used to "choose" what i wanted on it.

now though i am considering going back to dumping everything on the ipod again. I am also gonna wait till the next generation ipod comes out, hopefully it will look cooler then the current generation.

I find that I need both a full sized iPod and a small one. I have a 3rd generation 40GB iPod which has been working perfectly for over two years now but it's full and I need to change it. I refuse to buy a new iPod till the next generation comes out. I also have a 1GB Shuffle which I use at work and when I'm out and about. I think the Shuffle is excellent because it makes you choose your songs carefully because of the limited capacity unlike the big iPod which has almost all the music I own and then I find myself fidgeting too much between playlists.
