Quiznos now open in Kuwait
Quiznos, the American franchise opened up recently at the Baitak Tower (weird name). I passed by for lunch and it was pretty good (I had “the traditional” sandwich). The staff seemed a bit lost and they have a serious ventilation problem but as long as you sit outside the store its not a problem. 7inch subs were around KD1, 12inch subs around KD1.600 and to upgrade to a combo (fries+coke) its 500fils. Baitak Tower is in Kuwait City, next to the ABK tower where KFH and Alghanim X-Cite are located.

BTW,
If you want a real sandwich, wait til Schlotzky’s opens up in Kuwait.
I know that the Middle East region is no longer available for franchising of Schlotzky’s but haven’t been able to confirm when it will arrive in Kuwait.

not really, its a really tiny mall, there is like alghanim, quiznos, salad creation, carribou coffee, fasttelco, this airlines company and the nut tree. thats it, everything else is not opened yet.

Don’t order the steak sub, it’s cold roast beef with a funky taste. Also the fucking grease stench was unbelievable, just like charley’s or burger boutique or something. They really need to fix their ventilation problem.
18. TweeZ | October 20th, 2008 at 6:59 pm

Quiznos is nice but I agree Schlotzky’s is much better. I hope Quizno’s don’t mess things up the same way Subway did when they first opened in Salmiya years back.
ahmed,
This is what happens when the owner (KFH) hire incompetent and arrogant engineers to represent them before the consultants and contractors to make design decisions (more like irrational demands such as reducing the mechanical floors hight to add additional floors leading to smaller machines after construction starts).

My office is in that tower, its a nice place for people who work there as we spend most of our business time in the coffee shops :)) But I don’t think you would want to go there for specific…
Salad creations is good though for a light lunch…
22. Mark | October 20th, 2008 at 10:34 pm
blasha: they were released like last week.
23. M | October 20th, 2008 at 10:43 pm
The building mostly has KFH subsidiaries there…
It has aref energy (well, technically another kfh co. ). It even has ernst & young.
The airlines co. is Delta Air
I’ve the list of all the companies there, but its in arabic.. so, donno half the names…

25. Marzouq | October 21st, 2008 at 12:18 am
I love Quiznos, I don’t know if the sub is going to be the same. I always order a Mesquite Chicken whenever I’m in the states.. extra onions and Mozerrala Cheese.. I just hope it is as good as it is in the states.. I’m assuming it will be worse.. now to try it..
26. German | October 21st, 2008 at 12:30 am
Quiznos is an all time favorite…
Especially the Beef Dip is addictive.. But to be honest, I think it would be hard to match the original back home..
How fresh could it be?
27. weeman | October 21st, 2008 at 1:01 am
Panera Bread is also a great place for sandwich’s but i dont think they will be opening in kuwait anytime soon !
28. Environmental | October 21st, 2008 at 1:05 am
I stopped by today, and I found out that it was opened last August. and they had a branch which opened last March !!! and guess where it is?? in Jahra !! I mean I’m what was the owner thinking of when he opened the first branch in Jahra?! and why no advertisements? I thought they opened the place like this week !! :O
I tried it today, tastes somewhat different than the states, and the menu I believe is not all the same, but most importantly they have mesquite chicken and tastes damn good! :D
29. German | October 21st, 2008 at 1:28 am
No advertisement?
That doesn’t surprise me… I’m not a marketing major, BUT I think I could do far better in business than most I have seen..
Counter productive 51% for K doesn’t help it here either.
Customer service?
I’ll stop while I’m ahead…..
30. Mark | October 21st, 2008 at 7:59 am
i think they arent advertising because they just did a soft launch. when i was there yesterday the place had a lot of people mostly employees i think from baitak tower. for now thats who they might be targeting until they settle down and get more experience before they start targeting everyone else.
31. Lunardream | October 21st, 2008 at 8:10 am

Well, Quiznos Sub brand from the US Denver Colorado has it mark in the food industry. When we talk about service and hospitality i guess every food brand has its flaws. Does it taste better that subway? Is it a toastier alternative? I used to be a subway customer but having the Sub from the oven does make a lot of difference. I remember 15 – 20 yrs when brands like Mc donalds, and Burger King came into existance in kuwait market they still were trying to figure out whehter it was the right move. The sandwiches didnot taste like US Mc’s but i guess in 20 yrs they have made their mark in the kuwait market. Food Critics for brands launched in any market is healthy but we ask the Q.. does it make a difference? Japanese food outlets in kuwait are busy with customers serving rights to reservation in the present time. Going back 5 yrs .. Did the people of kuwait know about japanese food? They assumed that Sathe stick (Chop sticks) were toothpicks. LMAO… Well it does put in a thought for the day.. Where would you happy bloggers go for lunch today?

Quiznos is the only subs restaurant we have in Egypt… no Subway… and I kinda prefer subway over it… what do you think?
43. Farah | October 25th, 2008 at 1:43 am
anyone tried Salad Creations?
44. Salem | November 6th, 2008 at 11:37 am
Quizno’s here in Kuwait Suuuuuuuuucks! It is TOTALLY different than the one in the states which I loved and still crave. Too bad the owners decided to import just the name instead of the whole package. We’ll see how long it lasts…
45. Memphsis | November 12th, 2008 at 12:46 pm
Thats the most Hilarious blog ever. How could someone ever think that a Brand could be launched or import half package.. I don’t blame you coz there is nothing to do in kuwait other than be a food critic. All the people do here is EAT.
46. TIBET | November 12th, 2008 at 8:01 pm
Sorry Memphsis.
It seems that you dont have any knowledge about Quiznos.I have been in the states and you are less than half package as you mention. This is a hilarious blog not salems’.Hi Salem by the way
47. Memphsis | November 13th, 2008 at 5:19 pm
TIBET.. well tibet is a nice place for Quiznos Sub to be launched and by the way i have tried Quiznos Sub in the States, Canada, Australia and the middle east (Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt). i don’t blame you for being support or defensive.. Culture and thoughts of the same folk.. If u know what i mean.. LMAO
