Red Lobster Kuwait

According to one blog reader, it seems Alshaya are not the ones who will be relaunching Arby’s and Wendy’s but they are planning on launching Red Lobster in the phase 2 of Avenues. Not as cool as Arby’s or Wendy’s but still cool.

Do we even have fresh lobster in Kuwait? I thought we only had those smaller ones, forgot what they’re called…

Wow, Red lobster. During college days, everytime we had an event to celebrate, Red lobster was the usual joint. I think the avenues won’t be the right place for it, though I can bet that it would be the same minus its coronoa beer bottles which are used as salt/pepper shakers.

Since this restaurant belongs to Al-Shaya if it is successful enough, which is probably what is going to happen, they will open one in every nook and cranny. So don’t worry about the location guys.

Carrefour also sells live lobsters; though I have no idea why anyone would want to eat a live lobster.

I’m not really into seafood, but I liked Red Lobster here in Texas.

21. Desert Girl | March 3rd, 2008 at 3:36 pm
Awesome. I love them. I would love them even better here if they served drinks with your meal.
22. KWT23 | March 3rd, 2008 at 3:37 pm
COMMENT #2 (Mark): yes they do use fresh live lobsters. They actually keep them in small aquariums inside the restaurant.
23. Gillian | March 3rd, 2008 at 3:51 pm
Omg, fantastic!! Kuwait is slowly adding some of my favourite things from back home… still won’t be perfect until we get Dairy Queen and Tim Horton’s! :)

I agree Gillian…a DQ blizzard would be amazing and a Timmy’s iced cap. or a triple triple!!! I would like to see Olive Garden here. Im not a lobster fan..having practically grown up on it. The lobsters at the sultan centre actually come from Nova Scotia…My homeland…ahhhhh!!!

28. Sarah | March 4th, 2008 at 3:19 pm
Don’t we have a DQ in kuwait? in shaab park if i am not mistaken?
29. ok go | March 4th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
Red Lobster is generic seafood. Usually frozen. Its pretty much the Denny’s of seafood. I dont get why they would bring these cheap American franchises to Kuwait. Why not Cheesecake Factory? P.F. Changs? California Pizza Kitchen? Claim Jumpers? All are much better options than Red Lobster. Whats next Denny’s?
30. Gillian | March 4th, 2008 at 5:22 pm
sultan’s lobster comes from nova scotia?? Way cool… i’m so proud — my country too!! And i swear to god, if there’s a DQ in shaab park, i’m pretty sure you’re gonna see a lot of canadian teachers lined up in front of it this weekend!! And i agree, the Cheesecake Factory would great too! (Might add a couple extra pounds, but whatever!) But i haven’t heard of the others. Talking about all this food makes me think of another fav from home… 7Eleven Slurpees. Best junk food in the world.

like what took them so lOng…?
32. TAz | March 5th, 2008 at 1:23 pm
Gillian, How about we represent the whole country….
Lets have Lafleur Poutine……
33. LunarDream | March 6th, 2008 at 2:07 pm
We had DQ in kuwait, but it closed down out of misery and poor sales. It should have been ice cream branches only.
34. the simper | March 7th, 2008 at 5:26 pm
every one is asking for a restaurant.. how about “Olive Garden”??
