Review: Hardees Chili Lava
When I saw the new ads for Hardees advertising the Chili Lava I fell in love. I haven’t had Hardees since I started my no fast food diet late last year, but I love Chili and I really love the Chili Hot Dog at Hardees so to have a Chili Burger was like wow! Sadly though the Chili Lava was a disappointment. Don’t get me wrong here, there was nothing wrong with the burger, just don’t expect to get what you see in the picture. The burger looked pretty boring but I liked how they presented it to me.. in a plastic basket covered with a sheet of paper with my curly fries and burger on top. It looked like something you would get at Fuddruckers or TGIF. Taste wise I was expecting it to be wilder but it was pretty normal. I would most probably have the burger again its just that I think their ads over hyped it so I was expecting more flavor. My biggest issue with the burger is the price, the single lave combo costs KD1.550 while the double lava combo costs KD1.750. When did the combos get so expensive? Even the regular Mushroom & Swiss or Roast Beef N’ Chedder combos cost like KD1.400 and I remember the Roast Beef used to always be cheaper then the burgers. Because of the expensive price and the lack of shock and awe I give the Chili Lava a 3.5 out of 5. [Chili Lava Poster]

I saw the advert for this in my bus! The Chilli on the burger looks like shit when you think about it..!

Regarding the pricing issue - have noticed major raises in all the leading fast food outlets. Just check out the KFC & Pizza Hut prices (KFC dinner combo used to be around 1.250, now it’s 1.600 etc.). Hey - we didn’t get any salary-raises, why the all-round hike?

yeah fuck all these price increases like dudester said fast food prices are up everywhere. kuwait is getting poorer and poorer so they have to compensate. it’s going to be so fucking hilarious when income/goods taxes are introduced here.

A dinner combo that sells for kd 1 and above usually only costs anywhere from 700 fils to 800 fils,sometimes lower!This cost is total cost incurred by the franchisee.Oil prices havent really affected sales. Price hikes are,for some companies at least,decided arbitrarily.In fact recent price hikes by a company have nothing to do with increased costs,but rather cashing in on better than last year sales,ensuring higher top management bonuses plus the usual ego assuaging politics.

u might wanna add something about the fact that hardees NO LONGER sell normal sized burgers anymore..only those disgusting thick burgers.Oh,and u can only buy nuggets as part of a kids meal…yup…no more 9 pieces nuggets.
