Yup its true, when i left home today at 7am, i saw all these cars piled up as i exited onto the fahaheel, (from exit 210) there was a police car that was blocking 2 out of the 3 lanes cuz they collapsed and a car was seriously damaged before the police covered the lanes, thats how they figured it was collapsed!

    There’s a long distance between the 209 – 210 exits.

Any more specific details other than this stretch has collapsed?

As u exit the 210 exit and head to kuwait city, it will be almost 200-300meters ahead on the bridge

How the hell would it collapse?

There could have been some oil reserves or underground catchment water which extended there from somewhere else, which upon its removal lead to the collapse of the highway.

I have been at the 209/210 stretch a few minutes ago, there is no collapse of any bridge, however on the right side (Fahaheel direction) and just before the 210 exit, you could see an excavator and a couple of trucks working on a large hole and the traffic is closed on that particular exit.

    Hope that helps

    Hi Mark,
Yes I use the same road on a daily basis, the road work was not done properly at that point coz usually when you take the second and the third lane on that particular spot you feel like it is a small pit, that is actually the starting point of a mini flyover that cross over the 210 I believe.

Arab Times, page 6 today (4/24) has a photo. It is probably a sink hole because of all the rain we’ve had.

Just wait till all of those lovely bricks (someone had a contract to install) at all the intersections start shifting because of the rain. That should be fun on sportscars!
