Slider Station new website

Slider Station

Slider Station finally have a website up and running but when I try to check it on my Mac my browser practically freezes. I tried using both FireFox and Safari and the website seems too graphically heavy to browse properly. From what I managed to see, they have some photos up and the menu but without the prices. An over-stylized pretentious website for yet another confused pretentious Kuwaiti restaurant.
It’s also done in flash, why am I not surprised?

The website looks nice .. However, the screen seems to be set a bit too large (I get scroll bars on my 1920×1200 screen). And the menu items are impossible to read.

The website looks funky and trendy .. but its not userfriendly, difficult to read. An unless you have a DSL connection and a great graphics, i dont think this will work on lesser config.

limiting the viewers is a bad idea.

The graphics are just too much.
Grahpics should not hinder practicality, no matter how good they are.

    Did not like it…

Yeah, where showermas are thrown at your windshield..and you must lick it off the glass because you’re an unworthy peasant of a groumet restaurant.

Bleh, another burger place. I’ve been to it once, it sucked. The location smells like fish too.

The site is not done yet, still there is work to be done. I agree its a heavy site but most promotional sites are usually graphically heavy relative to e-commerce sites. A few features need to be cut down for faster speeds. checkout http://www.koein.com for further examples.

What about the common man using dial-up? What about him, huh? huh? huh?

Simplicity might be good for you when as you can see everyone in the previous comments called you pretentious, y’know?

I’m just readin’ the “hidden” viiiibes here..

Mark: I have a mac and the website works just fine. It must be your ISP.

TRiPLE M: I think that that sign signifies the direction you would go in if you were coming from Salmiya.

K: It’s layout fits well with my browser :) and about the items not being readable I think what you mean is that you can’t scroll down. The scroll bar is actually found on the left; because the size seems fine to me.

And no, I don’t know Equalizer (just in case you were wondering). I just don’t want this restaurant and others like it to go away. The reason why I like it is because it uses ingredients and recipes which I rarely see outside of their respective regions. People just hate anything different which is quite evident over here.

I don’t think it’s pretentious. If you have read Equalizer’s previous blog, Gastronomica, you would have seen that this is his style of cooking.

??? I didn’t have a problem in loading the site, it loaded quickly, i had a problem navigating the site and the amount of resources it was taking from my system. its a heavy hitter in that regards.

Mark thank you for the link and the update concerning this real restaurant, after review the website I decided to go and give it a shot, but unfortunately the map is very very bad they should have said beside HUB Burger.. (guys don’t review the map on the web just go next to Panini.. ) anyway I set there it was like 10 PM, there first feeling wile I’m setting on the bar was like I’m not in Kuwait. I order from the waitress (weird but it was a very professional and hospital waitress), I didn’t know what to order the I gave it a shot and ordered a couple of burgers chicken and beef ones, and Nachos with dip the spinach I guess.. It is unbelievable very good and yummy if I may say.. I think I’ll pass by tonight and try something else… HEY try the lolipop yummy..

    again thx :)
