well in jordan local sms is 1 piaster, and int is 3 piasters. 1 KD = 2.4 JD, so a piaster (dime = 10 fils) is actually 0.00417 KD and the 3 piasters = 30 fils is 0.01 fils. expensive kuwait heh?

If nothing’s changed since I was last in Abu Dhabi, Etisalat charges you 18 fils (5cents, 0.014KD) for sending a domestic SMS, and 60 fils (16cents, 0.047KD) for an int’l one, which I think is pretty reasonable…Here in America, T-Mobile (my carrier) charges 10c for sending AND receiving domestic txts, and 15c for sending and 10c for receiving and int’l txt, which sucks for me. I’ve got a messaging bundle though: $2.99 for 300 msgs of any kind (txt, picture, video), which is a brilliant deal (but I still get charged 15c for every msg I send to the UAE).
Speaking of Etisalat..I just visited their website for the first time in aaages and I noticed they’ve got a new look..I love it! The old one was ridiculously childish and blah…What do you think of it, Mark?

When I was in the states, TMobile had a unlimited SMS package for around 10$ .. and they wouldn’t differentiate between local and international sms. Took them a couple months to realize how many messages Kuwaiti students could send for free; I was averaging 300+ a day.

I had the $10 from Tmobile! I was racking the sms up!! But yeah 50 fils is a decent amount! And I do send a lot of international smss. Going to see how it affects the price!

Marzouq: I averaged it out after they started charging per sms, My phone bill would have been ~1500$! I must have saved over 5000$ over the 5 months that they had the 10$ sms plan. :)
