Sneak Peek: Wagamama

A friend of mine was passing by Wagamama at 360 Mall and managed to capture this picture of the interior. Looks like they are sticking to their signature long shared tables but they also seem to have some smaller 4 person booths. Wagamama was supposed to open in September but they never did.

Thanks B!

It’s good they made several seating options. No one will be willing to sit on those comunal tables ! Yaki Udon all the way ! (that is if they dont mess it up like noodle house)

  18. 18. jewaira | October 28th, 2009 at 12:09 am

it wouldn’t be wagamama without the long shared tables now would it?

  19. 19. funny story | October 28th, 2009 at 1:23 am

360 sucks. Is anything even open there yet?

  20. 20. chicken juice | October 28th, 2009 at 1:50 am

Correct, juweira, it woouldn’t be wagamama without those tables, but it’s Kuwait, it will be entertaining to watch the seated people, awkward to be one of them, and you could be a victim of “the people who have nothing better to do than stare.”
I wish wagamama the best of luck, ebi katsu, orange juice, chicken catsu (or yaki udon), concluded with a coconut ice crem and i’m a happy man.

people won’t want to share in kuwait though.

and I bet they’ll pull a maki for the next 2 years …

“im sorry sir , no room, all reserved ….. come bakc in 3 hours”

    oh well ……

    who owns the place?

  23. 23. Mathai | October 28th, 2009 at 8:07 am

Hmm reminds me of the tables in the cafeteria, back in college. I wonder if customers here would really want such a seating arrangement.

  24. 24. Summer | October 28th, 2009 at 8:43 am

the place is tiny compared to the other branches in london!!!!

  25. 25. AR | October 28th, 2009 at 10:01 am

Menu and pricing for Kuwait is now available here :
    http://www.wagamama.com.kw/asset/kw/files/location/menus/1251121895_kuwait_menu.pdf
I guess paying KD 4 to 5 for a main course noodle dish is not cheap by casual dining standards. I guess you pay for the rooftop ambience at 360 !
Nice to have them here in Kuwait – at least a change. Lets see the quality of ingredients they use. This is where the likes of Noodle House FAIL – All the money spent on ambience and food presentation, but the quality of the ingredients from the bottom of the barrel ( and taste so )

  28. 28. Holla | October 28th, 2009 at 12:15 pm

It’s just going to be full of shabab sitting in huge groups heckling all the chicks that come in to pick up takeway. ZZZzzz wake me up when a nuke lands near here.

  29. 29. m2k4 pp | October 28th, 2009 at 3:33 pm

I see that Kuwaitis have no problem sitting on long shared tables at noodles in Dubai and at London’s wagamama.
I can’t wait for it to open :) which will be from what I heard on the first week of Nov.

  31. 31. q80 | October 28th, 2009 at 7:54 pm

I don’t think that shared tables are going to be a problem. People are sitting near each other infornt of slider station’s conveyor belt without a problem.
Once I was sitting there and two girls came and sat next to me while the other seats on the bar were empty. So I don’t think people would mind.

  32. 32. m2k4 pp | October 28th, 2009 at 8:13 pm

nah not 1st novemebr,at a later date thn tht i thnk

  33. 33. Desert Girl | October 29th, 2009 at 7:44 am

I could see shared tables like that if it was a guy’s restaurant or they were serving machboos and an entire family came in to eat. It will be funny to see how it will work: long-bearded guys next to short skirts…

  34. 34. SWAiN | October 29th, 2009 at 8:05 pm

In my opinion, the shared tables will be like the bar long table in T.G.I.F , Chilies ..etc. a few people eat at the bar although most of the American restaurants in kuwait sticking with their theme. so why would Wagamam do it!?

  35. 35. bibo | November 9th, 2009 at 3:55 pm
