Some good electronics deals
I just bought a new plasma over the weekend for a really good deal. LG just reduced their plasma prices a few days ago and they’re the best I have seen. I purchased the 42″ PG20 model (contrast ration 25,000:1) for only KD275 while the 50″ version is selling for KD445. I am not a big fan of LG but my dad purchased one awhile back and when he found a problem with it (used to turn on by itself in the middle of the night) their customer service was extremely good and they swapped the TV for him with a new one no questions asked.
The Acer Aspire One laptop deal is back at Alghanim Electronics. After running out of stock on the low end Aspire One (512MB RAM, 8GB HD) the machines are back in stock and are selling for KD79. I saw two colors on display, white and a blue. Just to give you an idea on how good this deal is, the same laptop with the same specs is going for KD88 on Amazon without tax.
Just to add to this I noticed Alghanim have now started selling Alpine and Rockford Fosgate car sound systems. I wish they had started selling them a few months back when I had to purchase all my items from online.

Tell me congrats guys!
I broke the piggy bank and went & bought the LG 42′ LCD.
359KD with wall bracket.
I did some research over the web to compare LCDs & plasmas.
Its an endless debate with variables such as what use you will use it for, size of room, amount of light in room,
Im 50% games, 30% DVD, 20% cable TV, 4×4 entertainment room, no light.
Therefore, for me its best to take the LCD.
Now that the TV is here, next on the list is the magic receiver.
Laterz ;)

Mark tell your dad that he has the auto-on option set to “ON”.

Yes, these laptops are cheaper these days and frankly, I usually find many good deals outside amazon. Actually, amazon is the last place I check, that’s IF I check.

i want to buy Acer as well! and it will be used for work during long working hours.
Will it perform? compared to Dell because dell is the best for work routine, long lasting! and very rare it gives a problem.
I am not sure about this Acer that you guys are talking about. but the price looks good so please advise!
:)

Hey Randy! I got the LG Scarlet a couple of months ago…. I am so in love with it… I just wish I got a larger one ;)
25. YaCCo | November 3rd, 2008 at 11:46 am
Most of you are talking about LG, but I have a comment related to Acer Aspire One… I managed to buy that abt 1,5 weeks ago with 79 KDs. Actually, I bought 2, one for myself and one for my daughter.
I have been MORE than satisfied with ACER. I used Linpus Linux for couple of days and then attached external CD and installed XP Pro… Now I enjoy it even more :) And of course I bought 8GB SD card to be a storage expansion, so now I have 16GB SSD.
Now, I just need to get 512MB/1GB soDIMM to expand RAM… Any idea where can I get that? Hawally of course, but if I want to get quality one? Any idea about the price? In Finland 1GB Kingston soDIMM meant for Acer Aspire is less than 20Euros…
BTW, XP tells me that I have dual core Aspire :)

i have no tv. & was wondering if there’s any experience shopping @ electgazone or someting like that. they are located off the 60 between 5 & 4 ring? visiting the showroom last night it was very crowded & the prices seemed okay like 300kd for an Akai 42″ LCD. i noticed a bunch of “PRC” china branded tv’s & stuff, tons of PC laptops.
33. Mark | November 5th, 2008 at 9:40 am
300KD for an Akai when you can get an LG for 275? Doesn’t sound like ok prices..
34. Bhavna | November 5th, 2008 at 5:17 pm
