here’s the thing …

sony store has some few old 60GB PS3s ( the 1st edition/shipment ) which are Japan made and Ntsc-jp system , which is the japanese system ..

because they are old and now limited , they started selling them @135KD … with 3 DAYS warranty !!! which obviously means with no warranty ..

and they also have the new PS3s .. new shipment/editions ..which is now made in china in all around the world ” mine from amazon and it is made in china ! ” .. and they’re selling the new ones 60GB with 2 games , 2 controllers @ 175KD … with 1 year exchange warranty .. if it’s dead .. change it .. and that’s it !

Frankom, I spoke to a friend of mine yesterday who has a store in Rihab, he offers 1 year warranty with the PS3 he sells at his stores!

Anyway I called Muthana branch and he told me at his branch they are out of stock of the Jap version which was selling for KD135. He told me the Jap version is NTSC and the other version they sell which he called “chinese version” is pal. So the SONY dealer is selling grey market PS3’s thats why they are not offering warranty on the KD135 PS3.

Someone told me they are selling 40GB PS3 for KD125 at Rihab.

:: I spoke to the salesman from sony marina mall he told me that they have 3 offers and all has the 60GB thing with the warrenty and like what u said before the first offer comes with the moie. the other one with 1 game only and the best offer was like KD175 with 2 game (no no choice) and 2 joystick and guess what he said ONE year warrenty with all these package.

now u surprised me when u said that Rihab offers a 3 months warrenty thats weird coz when we bought one 2 months ago non of the shops has the warrenty excpet one he said (one week) only.

i has teh warranty,well… kinda.

Thank god i waited.
I got it for 230 when rehab was selling JAP( product of Singapore :P) for 180ish.

you dont get it.. dont you? even Sony dealer in Kuwait (al tajheezat) get their own ps 3 from the grey market. its not imported officially from Sony corporate. Thats why they CANT AFFORD a warranty. Warranty is provided by the manufacturer. It does NOT cost the dealers (al tajheezat a SINGLE FILS since all repair costs and part replacements are covered by the manufacturer.

Lamest companies in kuwait who dont even want to bother with having a workshop to fix the electronics usually just send the devices to the regional workshop (which is most likely located in UAE). And I’m saying this just in case some retard want to claim that lack of service center or labor is the reason why altajheezat dont want to offer warranty on the ps 3.

The SONY dealer in Kuwait sucks pretty bad for the following reasons:
1- The prices are really high.
2- Their services suck.
3- They only bring some specific SONY laptops.
4- It takes them a lot of time to bring the new products; such as PS3, they should have had it a month after it came out.
