Sony PS3 Slim for KD69

I just read on Frankom’s blog that the Sony dealer in Kuwait has an incredible offer on the new PS3 Slim. For a limited time offer they’re selling it for KD69. If they don’t have a decent amount of stock available then they’re probably already sold out by the time you read this.

Note: This deal is just available at their newly opened Avenues branch. It’s located near D*Lush and Nokia.

Update: This is what one reader had to say about his experience trying to get the PS3 Slim:

OK everyone I got it, its 120 GB euro, plays all region games, but the sony shop was horreendous i went at 11:00 am and was # 84 out of 120, it was a big mess, people shouting and old women begging for numbers. two kids even fingered the sales guy back side for a number which caused an even bigger delay, completly dis-organized , but cant blame them selling its for nearly half price, al ghanim is getting it in october for 100kd pre order, sony selling it for 69 is gonna cause chaos, but they should have been prepared to be honest. only good thing is that women dont have to wait for a number, by 12:00 i recieved mine and they had stopped giving numbers out so if you want to go in the evening i dont think there will be any left

Update2: According to Cajie a blog reader, when he passed by at 1PM the stock had already been finished.

it doesnt mention whether its 80 GB OR 120 GB, Doesnt mention, euro or US spec, and there phone number is not working, which means you have to go all the way there just to ask these basic questions

It’s probably a PAL version so will only play region 2 blu-rays which u can only find a handful of at algahnim or something.
How much does the NTSC region 1 go for in rehab?

Since it the official dealer then it must be a PAL system, it will play all PS3 games but not all Bluray movies.

I would like to know why games are so highly priced in Kuwait?
I have heard that their cost price is 5KD but yet they are being sold in rehab for the least 13KD. Thats abit too much.

KD13? KD18 is more like it. I don’t think the cost price for games is KD5, even on Amazon new games are like 15 or 16 dinars

any ps3 console will play any ps3 game and blu ray movies. it is region free but not for dvd movies and ps2 games.

All PS3 systems are region free for games, but are region locked for Blu-Ray movies. Some Blu-Ray movies are playable on all systems (Contains A,B,C on the back)

I love my 80Gb ps3, backwards compatible and I have a 120GB HDD in it so its all good :D The Slim never appealed to me.

Agree with m’s post. Got mine too … was there from 10 , o’clock …was like a bloody fish market and 2 or 3 old jobless women walking out with the slim . enquired Xcite started preorders last week for 99.9 Kd and available mid next week. Sure to see some reaction from carrefour or others too.but 69 was hell of a deal.

I just called muthanna branch and the salesman told me that they still have 200 ps3’s showing in the system. I know it may sound unbelievable but you can call them 22435842. if you or the guys would like to inquire.

I think that Sony can kick Xbox 360 sales number now.
I liked the ps3 slim but I still want to play some playstation 2 games like kingdom hearts and final fantasy. In addition, someday I would like to install linux in my PS3.

Passed by Avenues today at 9 pm.
They are selling them – but not at the promotion price. They are basically saying the 69 KD offer is over and they are now selling the same for KD 103/- with 1 extra dual shock 3.
And people are still buying it in droves.

It was available today in all the other branches for the 102 KD price and the 69 KD offer (which sadly is over now) was available only in the Avenues till they sold a pre-set number of their stock and then thsy brought it back to the regular price.

i was number 10! i went at 9:45am waited till 10:30 then they opened and everyone was running in to get their Slim PS3! guys the slim only comes in 120GB and its the European version(Pal), Sony Kuwait always sell Pal stuff if most of you haven’t figured that out yet. btw i should of been number 37 or something! but i stole the pen n paper and wrote 10 when the guy shouted 10 i gave him my Knet n my fake num:P hhaha after i paid the real num 10 showed up :P its 69KD with one wireless pad n comes with a 1yr dealer warranty. The best part was the pushing :P hahaha had a blast really!!

good job dropping the price before FF13 which exclusive in japan, and before GT5 the most successful game made by sony studios specially in Europe.

but 103 kd is a descent price.
@ re7ab its sold around 130-140 +extra controller and 2 games which is a good price too u know

@nsta I agree cent percent! The indian guy Yousuf at kuwait gate robbed me blind for so many years but luckily I found a good guy that sells me each PS3 game for KD 15 to 17 max. Anyone try buying a PSN card from rehab? Those bastards pick up a calculator (after saying they have U$ 20 cards available) and do some pretty amazing conversion. The most I’ve been told to pay for it is KD 35, again from kuwait gate but it’s the young arab kid this time. Thieving turds!
