Student found dead on ACK Campus
A body of a student was found in the parking lot of the Australian College of Kuwait. No cause of death has been disclosed but the following email was sent out to ACK students:
Dear All,
I am sad to inform you that a student was found deceased in his car on campus. It is extremely unfortunate and disheartening to see this incident happen to this young student with a bright future. Appropriate measures were taken including reporting to the police.
Investigators from the Department of Criminal Investigation and the Ambulance Department were notified immediately. The police at this stage could not confirm the nature of death; however, in due course they will inform the college on the details of the investigation. The police were extremely cooperative in attending to this emergency on the campus and worked in conjunction with the ambulance and other members of the college including our security. We extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the grieving family.

in alaan.cc , they mentioned that he was overdosed, however, in some comments, he was murdered , stapped on the back and his nose was broken. they also said that he was forcefully injected with heroin.

Mark; I strongly believe that you shouldnt post such sensitive topics! People, though, are very saddened by the death, they just dont seem to be know where to draw the line. For crying out loud man, a youth lost his life! Isnt that enough? We want to done Sherlock Holmes caps / capes and derive to the conclusion as “how was it done”.
Someone says drug overdose some one says in the car, the tennis court, let the law take its own course and stop spreading rumors. Media influences investigations, and thats exaclty what this particular post is doing! And its perfect for filing a law suit!
Just a suggestion Mark, thats it! Its your blog afterall.
25. Mark | April 9th, 2009 at 9:28 am
nyx its natural that people want to know what happened to this student and all thats happening here is people sharing what they know until the official cause of death is known. Everyone has been very respectful I think except for a few whos comments either weren’t approved or were deleted.
26. nyx | April 9th, 2009 at 9:34 am
And I certainly respect your moderation / consideration in this regard. However with emotions running high in the family of the deceased in this hour of grief of theirs; I think it makes sense to stop / block any more comments.
And with people who want to know more can certainly catch up with grape vine like someone mentioned “from sources”! That cheeses me off completely to nauseating levels; let them get it from the tabloids and news papers, they are into yellow journalism. Your blog most definately hasnt fallen in that category, Sir. Atleast till now! Have a super day, Godspeed to all of you.

Natural human curiousity I’m afraid- mind you I heard a horrific story this morning about how young men are ‘offered’ high grades at another Uni here. that is enough to make anyone , driven to despair, to do something silly. The world is a disgusting place smetimes and there’s the reality.
Peace to the boy’s family whatever.

Oh My god … I’m In Shock!!!! I know a few people who go to ACK … Its sad to know that you cant even feel safe at Uni.

people should be respectful especially for the family but I think its still ok to have questions about how he died/etc. and have those questions answered because his death was at uni, he was young, and I think the public should know whether it was an OD/homicide/etc. I know it is sensitive especially for the family but actually dying of an OD/etc. and done so publicly at like tennis courts, its tragic and traumatic, and rarely ever happens in kuwait. I think it is just natural and important to talk about it because it raises awareness on something that is disgustingly hidden in Kuwait like drug use. And I think ACK, other universities, and Kuwait in general should take this as insight on Kuwait’s youth and do something about it… launch an effective drug awareness campaign, tightly regulate and really ENFORCE laws especially when it comes to drug dealing, etc. On another note, they said they found him dead, but they fail to mention if there were any attempts to resuscitate him. Also, did the students see all that? I mean if they found him on the tennis courts, students must have been around? In that case, I think ACK should provide even more counselling services/have a talk with their students/memorial service, if they have not done so already or plan to do. Anyway, my point is, there’s no shame in talking about it and it really is so tragic. Oo allah isa3id ahala oo yir7ama inshallah :(

Drug addiction is definately on the rise in Kuwait and no plans in sight for any kind of a rehab center. Tragic and stupid. Do they think the problem is just going to go away?
35. Security Adviser | April 9th, 2009 at 2:25 pm
What ever the cause its a tragedy when a young life is snubbed away like a flame in wind. Such a shame.. yet this is the world we live in where drugs and murder go hand in hand. My heart felt sympathies and prayers go out to the boy’s family. I hope they will find peace in this traumatic time. RIP friend

Actually, I heard that the building being built in front of souq al Salmiya is going to be a hospital offering detox/Rehab for Drug Addicts.
Can anybody confirm on this?
37. asiarab | April 9th, 2009 at 8:30 pm
i remember same incident way back in my country that a man found dead inside his car also. After further investigation, he was sleeping while the a/c open.. Actually advisable to sleep in the car if your is on and close window because of the air you inhale is bad for your health that cause death or your body will be paralyze…

39. Zuzu | April 10th, 2009 at 2:26 am
Stop spreading rumors! he wasn’t found dead in the tennis court, and he wasn’t anywhere next to Building 4, and his nose was not broken and he was not stabbed! what made people talk about drugs and that someone else is involved li2na he was in his car but in the backseat .. eli ma y3aref shay la yetkalam plz weli wa9el ahl ilmar7oom kfaya! Seriously?? the guy has a background with drugs? well the guy was also an A student they should of mentioned that !!
40. Mood | April 10th, 2009 at 2:44 am
first of islam taught us “ethkerew ma7asen mawtakom” which means remember only the good things about people who passes away…
i personally knew the guy and i was sincerely shocked when i heard the news…the true story is he was playing sports which caused his blood pressure to fall which lead to him fainting, his friend called the ambulance(at the same time there was a fight at the other side of the campus and police were called) el walad kan dayen, y5af allah! for gods sake he didnt even watch tv<<kan kela ygol 7aram, so i urge everyone to stop spreading these rumors(drug abuse…etc) and respect him and his family because anyone one of us could be in their shoes.

first of all, I happen to know the guy’s first cousin and she said that her brother was the one to get him out of the car when they found him stuck and unresponding inside. The guy does not do drugs and he died from a heart attack. thats all.
