The future weapon of mass destruction we should most fear is not a nuke.

Rather, it is a genetically engineered plague, a plague no one has ever seen before and against which no one has any immunity. In the time it would take to identify the new disease, develop a vaccine, distribute the vaccine and have it become effective, modern societies could suffer death rates equivalent to those of the Black Death: up to 2/3 of the population.

Be Afraid.. Be Very Afraid...

Roxas

You exactly understand what I meant ( Spanish flu, soldiers...etc.)! You just said it in a fancy scientific way! Just make sure you continue your search to know why the human body cannot fight this pathogene as it does with other viruses? It's because it's a man-made virus! Also, there are certain races that cannot fight the virus ( I wonder who these races are, easy to guess though!!) Also, to assure you that's it's an American biological warfare, look up Donald Rumsfeld, back in 1994, as the chairman of the board of A California Biotech firm, named Gilead Sciences Inc., which manifactures Tamiflu, the vaccine for Bird Flu and eventually Swine Flu.

And for those of you who are still doubting, check the sites below or google search many others on the net that are trusted sources as well:

ohh yeah let me show you the zombies untill now""""
CONFIRMED CASES
Map
Mexico: 168 suspected deaths - eight confirmed - 12 zombies
US: one death, at least 91 confirmed cases
New Zealand: 13 confirmed cases
Canada: 19 confirmed cases
UK: 5 confirmed cases
Spain: 10 confirmed cases
Germany: 3 confirmed cases
Israel, Costa Rica: 2 confirmed cases each
The Netherland, Switzerland, Austria, Peru: 1 confirmed case each

There are many cases elsewhere - including the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe, Israel, and New Zealand.

BBC health correspondent Mark McGrith says the raising of the WHO alert on Wednesday suggests a global epidemic, or pandemic, is imminent.

In the latest developments:

* China's health minister says that the country's scientists have developed a "sensitive and fast" test for spotting swine flu in conjunction with US scientists and the WHO. The country has recorded no incidence of the flu yet. There methods, however, have been uneffective in spotting the H1Z1 strain. """"""""

here's how it mutated "The story of the new strain of swine influenza now circling the world actually starts a lot farther back than the 20th century, but the year the "Spanish influenza" appeared is a good place to start.

From the second week in March 1918, when soldiers at an Army camp in Kansas began to get ill, until the final mini-waves of 1920, the Spanish flu infected about 97 percent of the people on Earth and killed at least 50 million of them.

The virus probably came from waterfowl, which carry dozens of different flu viruses. At some point, either before or after it got into human beings, the virus got into pigs, a species that can be infected by avian and human strains. It has stayed in swines ever since, and in people for almost as long.

The swine-origin influenza A (H1N1) virus circulating in Mexico, the United States and Canada, and present in two dozen other countries, is a descendant of the Spanish flu H1N1 virus. In the past 90 years, though, a lot of new blood -- metaphorically speaking -- has entered its lineage. It does not look or act much like its notorious ancestor.

This might be a good place to address this A and H and N business.

Influenza virus is part of a family called Orthomyxoviridae. There are four sub-classifications -- influenza virus A, influenza virus B, influenza virus C and thogotoviruses. It's like citrus fruit, which encompass oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruit, etc.

Influenza A and B cause illness in people; the others almost never do. There are many, many types of influenza A but only one influenza B.

The diversity of influenza A arises from variations in the two proteins on its surface, called hemagglutinin (abbreviated H or HA) and neuraminidase (N or NA). Together, the proteins make up the face that a flu virus presents to the immune system of a bird, a pig or a human being.

In this setting, the face's appearance is no small matter. The immune system's ability to recognize a virus is one of the first steps in stopping it.

One strategy involves antibodies. They attack only if they are tailor-made for the virus, which requires the immune system to get a good look at the surface proteins. The immune system can offer the best protection if it has seen the pathogen before and has the right antibodies ready.

Think of H as hair and N as nose, two features for learning and remembering the identity of a virus. In the world of influenza A, there are 15 subtypes of H (straight blond, wavy red, short black, kinky black, etc.) and nine subtypes of N (Roman, ski jump, flared, long, etc.). Each subtype is numbered -- H1N1, H3N2, H9N2 and so forth. "

HAHA looks like our good old H1N1 mutated into something far more powerful H1Z1 this little virus restart's your heart ? wtf "

There has been a small outbreak of “zombism” in London due to mutation of the H1N1 virus into new strain: H1Z1.

Similar to a scare originally found in Cambodia back in 2005, victims of a new strain of the swine flu virus H1N1 have been reported in London.

After death, this virus is able to restart the heart of it’s victim for up to two hours after the initial demise of the person where the individual behaves in extremely violent ways from what is believe to be a combination of brain damage and a chemical released into blood during “resurrection.”

The World Health Organization (WHO) has raised the alert to phase six, its highest level, and advised governments to activate pandemic contingency plans.

In Mexico, the epicentre of the outbreak, President Felipe Calderon urged people to stay at home over the next five days."
this virus makes zombies now WOOHOO
