my buddy works for teshkeel and he showed some of these comics. these are action heroes with islamic moral undertones wtf?

also their title is weird, the first time i picked up an issue i read the title as AL WOO bc that’s how it looks in arabic. arabic is such a retarded language sometimes.

Actually, I think it’s a unique concept that will sure raise a few eyebrows. Gotta give it to them for their originality. It’s good exposure and awareness.

Thanks for posting about our event, Mark! I’m the COO of Teshkeel and I just saw the first issue being printed last night, so it’s a pretty exciting day for us. Hopefully, TJ and Thamer will take a look at the whole book instead of just one sketch and then form an opinion. As you probably know we also do the Marvel Comics in Arabic and we’re about to launch Archie and DC as well. Even if you don’t like our original stuff, at least comic book fans in the Middle East will have some more choices as far as superhero reading material goes!

Thanks again for the coverage. Hopefully this is the start of many more events like this in Kuwait.
