Ahmad is a total sweetheart, I wish him all the best.

The video is edited smartly. I want that beef on the GRILL !! OHH MY MY MY !!

  2. vampire says:

    i love cooking

the video is kinda useless and just an ad for him,, i thought we will watch “how to make” dishes!

i wish him all the best

  3. Mathai says:

Nice effort but he should have mentioned what he’s making at the beginning of the video(blackboard shot is too short) rather than making us wait till the end. Also some narration would give it a personal touch.
    All the best chef !

  4. MiYaFuSHi says:

    Best of luck Ahmad!!!

  5. l.k. says:

I love the enjoyment of good tasty food … lol … so which days will he be available?

  6. Maze says:

    thats a cool idea

  7. Vbot says:

The initial videos have no narration, but later in the series he will be talking for sure. We agree, the personal touch and commentary is absolutely necessary.

Ahmed is very focused on his food, and it was a breakthrough to even get this close to him. At the same time, he’s as much an engaging gentleman as he is an amazing chef. We ate everything we shot… nothing was “touched up” by a food stylist.

  8. GeordieLass says:

Is Ahmed young or Old ?

  9. Labeeb says:

    Looks interesting!!!

Exactly when it is going to open? And where in the Avenues?

  14. Yousef says:

I can’t wait to try it out!

  15. TT says:

Mohammed he is definitely not the owner Burger Boutique, although people are trying to copy-cat the inventions of Burger Boutique! Sorry I’m a Burger Boutique fan!

  17. Felly says:

I adore guys who r into cooking, but why he is not wearing gloves? I just feel awful knowing that my chef wasn’t wearin gloves while cooking (authenticate healthy lifestyle n not to mention his own cooking reputation)

  18. Creep says:

    Hello Jeena,

Tomatoes do come in different colors, including yellow :)

Yellow tomatoes are “normally low in acid and have a less tangy flavor than the tomatoes most people are use to.”

    check it out:

  19. Daddy's Girl says:

  20. baddunk says:

burger hub is the best burger joint in kuwait, if this place is by the same owner, i am already sold

  21. Mark says:

Felly: I don’t think I’ve seen a chef ever wear gloves they just wash their hands. Just watch any cooking reality show on BBC Food.

  22. Getalife says:

TT as if B+F was not bashed by people of saying that they stole Nino staff and imitated there mini burger which were by the way the first gourmet mini burgers in KWT ??? Im sad of the culture in Kuwait of puting down in many ways anything successful project ??
Nino = introduced first gourmet burger in Kuwait
Happy burger: First full scale local burger joint in Kuwait
B+F + First desighn of a gourmet burger joint in Kuwait .
Burger hub= First gourmet burger from a kuwaite chief and first Gourmet pioneer restaurent in the strip area which took the risk?
so good luck for all and wish them all the best?

  23. mosan says:

I was there while shooting the video, I had the privilege to taste the food it was delicious

  24. Mark says:

    Getalife: Just a few corrections

Hungry Bunny was the first full scale local burger joint in Kuwait

B+F: The owner and chef is Kuwaiti also

  25. Getalife says:

Thanks Mark for the correction and there are 2 hungry bunny one was created by think tank team from a kuwaite company & other by indivdual and was created after in salmia ;and happy burger in Hawli it was created by a single indivdual before hungry bunny salmia.walah a3alm

  26. Mark says:

Hungry Bunny was created by Al Homaizi in the 1980s. They shut down in the early 90s when Al Homaizi got the rights to Burger King and they replaced all the Hungry Bunny branches with Burger King. There were at least a dozen stores. The Hungry Bunny “World” which is currently available in Kuwait is a cheap knock off.

Pizza Italia was another local franchise.

  27. Foodlovvvver says:

I know I am a bit late with this discussion but a few points:
    1. Tomatoes do come in different colors…
    2. Chefs do not wear gloves, they are very conscious about what they are cutting up, and where they are sticking their hands. This particular chef is constantly washing his hands, to the point of OCD in between cutting up meat and chopping veggies. Its not only hands, but they cutting board you use, the knives etc. When someone is trained internationally, as this gentlemen has been you take into account these things.
    3. Keep in mind that the coolest thing is that tehre is going to be a Kuwaiti chef actually COOKING in front of you while you eat. So when your at 86 Bistro you can tell him to wash his hands in person!!

    Bon appetite !

  28. burgers4life says:

Actually the first burger EVER to be made was by this guy :

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis'_Lunch

It was orginally served for a guy who was in a hurry so the owner sandwiched a steak in between to pieces of toast and VOILA! First burger!

So all you puritan burger eaters will be happy to know, that if you want the original head out to the New Haven, CT!

  29. Jeena says:

I know that there are different colored tomatoes. I love the purple tomatoes as a caprese salad. I love roma tomatoes for the sauces. I love cherry tomatoes in salads. That was a bad pale local tomato. I think as a chef he should know that color counts. At least using cherry tomatoes have a better color and concentrated flavor :p

  30. Realist says:

Getalife: I’m surprised how you disprove about people bashing successful businesses and you bash B+F. B+F happens to be the first Kuwaiti gourmet burger joint by a Kuwaiti chef which everyone else followed. Nino doesn’t even serve sliders, they serve mini burgers. It’s not the same. Ahmad Albader is doing a good attemp now by being unique in his bistro concept. This is something worth giving credit for. I wish him all the best.

  31. Getalife says:

Nino serve the best gourmet burger and sliders or mini burgers plus wagu..etc..I thanked mark for the correction because i heard the chef and manager name was Gorge from nino ; correct me please. All the best to all Kuwaites and non kuwaities in any business.

  32. Mark says:

I liked the burger at Burger Hub
    http://www.248am.com/mark/kuwait/burger-review-the-burger-hub/
But I wouldn’t go back because the atmosphere sucks. The interior is ugly and their menus and whole identity is worse. Good burger but I would rather go next door to Slider Station and have a good burger there.

  33. Getalife says:

ireally dont get your point brave heart?

  34. Getalife says:

Mark burger union also serve great burgers…can you tell us what do you think of it also? if you can

  35. Mark says:

lol you’re new here I am guessing?

  36. Getalife says:

?? im lost ?? since you stated your opinion about the burger hub ; i thought you can tell us what do you think of other joints?

  37. Mark says:

Its a long story. Anyway you can check out all my burger reviews by clicking this link
    http://www.248am.com/reviews/

  38. Mathai says:

long story ? lol , Getalife doesn’t know what he missed :P

  39. Getalife says:

Oh by the way tt; once burger hub opend at the strip after 1 year slider came next to burger hub which i find a bit strange in kuwait? i dont get why people try to open same activity next to each other?? now a new local gourmet pizza will open next to p&t im sure another pizza shop will open next to it in a year next to it?

  40. baddunk says:

    burger union = barf

  41. Me says:

Yummy it looks so appealing and entertaining ;)

  42. Georgy John says:

    Dear Getalife,

My name is Georgy John and Im the operations Manager of Gastronomica, the company which owns Burger Boutique. Im the first employee of this company ( joined in 2003 Jan) and I can assure you that the capsule model of Burger Boutique was made and created by Basil Al Salem even before we found a location in Arraya or even before I joined the company. There is no staff working in our company from Nino and if you are talking about me; this is my first job outside India. ( Unless Ive had a previous birth and you have met with me in Nino). And also, im not a chef. The only thing I cook is fish curry and that tastes ridiculous.

It took Basil years of research and product and recipe execution to have created b+f. Sliders was part of the original b+f menu and it was just an American food item that he wished to introduce in the menu. ( Accusing us of stealing the idea is like telling Burger King they stole French Fries from Mcdonalds). Its a universal thing my friend!! Biriyani is not copied from Mughal Muhal if Taal serves it. I guess, if not anyone, its us who has been copied. Any doubts, call me, I will clarify with facts.

And about Burger Hub being in the strip first; I would like to clarfiy that when we had taken over from Navy restaurant ( for Slider Station), Burger Hub was not operational. We got delayed in opening Slider Station only because the design adaptment and construction took time. Also we had a few issues with the contractor.

Nevertheless, I would like to speak out to all my friends out here that before posting anything on the internet, they should get the facts right. I have been living in Kuwait now for almost six years and this is my second home, if not the first. I have been associated with Basil for the past seven years and Im proud to say that all our concepts have been rolled out by him from scratch, from recipe to design; with great care, constant research and highest creativity.

Im not sure if Basil will like me writing in this strip and giving such an explanation but I just cant help it as Im very disappointed with these kind of demotivatiing and baseless remarks about a creative concept produced hundred percent from scratch. Friends, you must support a Kuwaiti who has been creating world class concepts and be proud of him, no matter he is a friend or foe. Rather, its disappointing to see you spreading rumours.

If you have any further doubts on what i say is true or not, please drop by my office and I shall show you the history of work, research, trials, recipe development and constant cooking sessions that we have done from year 2003.

    Georgy John,
Ph: 22464311 (Any one has a doubt, call me)

  43. Getalife says:

Very sensative the issue becoming there is a saying behaind a smoke always comes a fire????? i just wonder why one of the old owners said they were the one whom did the concept & wondering why this Nino rumours are spreading??? can i see your pasport visa since 2002 :)

  44. Mark says:

Getalife what old owners what rumors? All I see here is you making up stuff as you go. The guy just explained he didn’t work at NINOs ever and its been the same owner of the business since day 1. If you don’t believe him call him up.

  45. getalife says:

Mark????? search your blog and read Alnifisi ex owner B+F said she was the one did B+F…its not me its your blog????? I will ask Nino to kill this rumer??

  46. Mark says:

can you share with us the link.

  47. getalife says:

please help find it its faster if you do it ; or verify with the owners since you know them; argument was about one says gorge chedyak did b+F lay out and other says they did it and long comments ..the end.
PS: when you posted burger union review did you prove your comments? please keep the answer to yourself dont post it….LOL

  48. Mark says:

that was a ddliscussion on who designed the interior of the burger boutique branch in rayya. How is that related?

  49. getalife says:

    I agree take care

  50. igotalife says:

Getalife, i have been reading your posts on this issue and its like reading a Sherlock Holmes novel. You keep throwing out theories hoping something can stick. Just a question do you have anything to base what you say, or is it all hear say and rumors you pick up. I mean really, for a guy that says one thing and then another, your a walking contradiction. A post should be factual or stating ones opinion, when you say stuff like some say this other say that, your the smoke and fire combined. So unless your going to add value to this conversation, do like your name and GETaLife.

P.S All the best to Ahmed, there is no harm in innovation, cause without it we would all be stagnate.

  51. Burger girl says:

    getalife : loool , 7adik mindaq w em3awer galbik waaaayed :P
ma essa7 ela esa7ee7 o likol mojtahid nasseeb , my advice, you have 2 know the facts b4 u post any word, wela betfashil nafsik !:P Good luck everyone!

  52. burgers4life says:

Can we get back on topic people? This is a cool concept, who cares if everyone copies it tomorrow…?!?!? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. And as mentioned before, we are talking about BURGERS here, a pretty generic dish. All Burger joints in Kuwait do things differently. So great if you have a preference. This place is NOT just another burgers joint though, instead the chef is going to be cooking in front of people. And from the name I am guessing bistro/diner food. He is Kuwaiti, and I think that is pretty cool of him. If I like the cooking awesome, if I DONT i will still respect the concept and be thankful for the VAST eatery options I have in Kuwait.

  53. strange says:

to be fare it seems both supporters are mindageen from each other; all should wish burger hub and b+F the best and I think you cant compare them to each other because both are totally ghair 3an ba3ath and i think we cant sensor others point of view also such as getalife

  54. [...] previously posted the first episode of The Chef’s Table but it seems since then two more episodes have come out. The one above is episode 3 and it looks [...]
