The Healthier Lifestyle: Macaroni Grill
I go to Macaroni Grill quite often and mostly because of their garden salad with sweet Italian dressing and the grilled salmon dish.

Although I started going there because of their 2,430 calories spaghetti and meatballs dish, the grilled salmon quickly became my favorite dish. The fillet is covered with a savory honey glaze (which rocks!) and is usually served with orzo pasta but I have them swap it out with mashed potatoes instead.
Macaroni Grill is located at the Avenues, outside near Chili’s.

Just had steak and cheddar mashed potatoes ( nearly as good as my own ) with mushrooms and onions in a sizzling peppery cream sauce at Applebees. I don’t like these ‘American Chillis Chain’ type restaurants much but have to say that was one delicious meal.

Mark, it’s great that you’re eating healthy. You should have opted for boiled vegetables or beans, as mashed potatoes contain a lot of calories. Hell, even brown rice would have been a better choice.

Hi Mark….the dish looks so delicious!… but you forgot to post calories, please find out the caloric intake when you go for a meal, it would be such a plus to your already great reviews….buon appetite!

Well thing is i am not interested in the calorie count since my aim isn’t to lose weight but just to start eating healthier. I wouldn’t even know where to look or who to ask for calorie counts.

mark… seriously if u have that acid reflex thingy u should not be eating outside ur home much…
would u like to sleep inclined with a special pillow supporting ur back for the rest of ur life so u dont choke on ur stomachs’ acid when ur sleeping? Thats what happens with people who dont take good care of their stomach when it first hurts and symptoms when it first occurs!!!
There is a lovely website for people with acid reflix, it’s a support group from a dr. in the us suffering from acid reflux with tons of tips on how to deal with it and what exactly is good for u to eat and what is not… if u want i can forward u the link… what u have is a serious thing!
and calorie thing? go to calorie-count.com

hey if you can forward me the link that would be great. But, i dont see how eating outside or eating home will make a difference. as long as there are certain food items i stay away from it doesn’t matter if i eat at home or in a restaurant.

seriously dude, take it easy on the food. I was going through your blog backwards in time and first thing I read was your stomach acid problem. but then it was like uncovering the reason for your stomach problem post after post!
As I kept reading back in time, most of your posts were “I tried this burger” and “I ate that steak”, and “that cheesburger I had for lunch and dinner”..and and and…
That’s a lot of food. regardless of healthy or not, huge portions are really bad for you. I mean once you describe your starter as “chilly cheese fries” and then you had a cheesburger with “side of mashpotatoes and gravy”!!!!
Common I can’t even eat that for a whole day.
This culture of over-eating is ridiculous. The only thing you’re doing is expanding your stomach and messing up your body with all that grease.
I’m not advocating eating lettuce only, but ask yourself this question: does your body really need that much intake of food on a daily basis?
Tip: don’t starve yourself before meals. have a good breakfast (light cereals) and eat fruits in between to keep you going. then have a light lunch. half a sandwich. when you get hungry at 2/3 pm have another fruit then have dinner later.
your body is more important than a honey glazed, cheese stuffed oily bun burger!

I love the sheets of paper and crayons they hand out. I am not sure if they do that only when you have kids with you, but my husband and I go crazy with the doodles.
19. Mark | May 19th, 2009 at 9:53 am
the crayons are on all the tables and i just doodle on the huge paper that covers the table

The ONLY way to lose weight is>>>> eat at home as much possible>>> portion control>>>dont get too hungry, eat every 2hrs or so>>>excercise!
There are no pills and if u opt for surgery>>u will gain it back and more, without the above life changing routines!
I do want to thank you Mark, for the reviews i mean…good job with all of them and the pictures gives us a better “view”. Take care though…your health is important, have a check up!
Have a great day!
