The Military Parade in Photos

I was out of the country when the military parade took place recently in Kuwait but a reader of my blog who was at the event took some pictures which I’ve uploaded online. To check out the pictures click [Here]

Looks like a military parade from the 80’s.

It is great to see we have advanced capabilities in Kuwait. Keep it up! I remember in 2003 how well the security forces protected each and every road of Kuwait day and night. I seriously question if it looks like a parade from 80s or they will run away anywhere. Hats off to everyone involved in protecting and serving Kuwait!

desertsky: the photos you are seeing are the most advanced weapons sponsored by the U.S.

    Akbar: I appreciate your comment!

there are people who spent sleepless nights preparing for this amazing event!!! you should at least appreciate that, if you can organize a better parade be my guest otherwise keep your nasty comments for yourselves you “sitting behind your computers and complaining all day without doing anything productive kind of people”!!

Well I have to say in the defence of Kuwait, I absolutely loved the fly over last week March 8th. I was off sick and , having got over the initial fear that it was an Iranian invasion, it cheered up my day.

never judge a book by its cover.
one of the brutal practices to enter special forces is that you are thrown in the desert for one week only having underwear for clothing and nothing else. you have to use what you have learned to survive for the weak.
and also you have to kill a live rabbit with your bare hands. to experience the emotion felt when killing a something living.

Well Salem, on that delightful note………………..

so whats so special about this parade? all they did is walk/drive in line from left to right.

    nothing interesting.

next time, ask them to do some REAL show. something interesting. like showing the cops skills in intercepting cars at high speed? maybe even involving helicopters in this? or how about a dogfight for the f18s? that would be really cool. I understand that the apache pilots spent many many hours last time practicing how to do the “salute” maneuver so i’m not expecting anything from them since they apparently need some more time on the simulators.

I love how its a complete random assortment of weapons systems from both the US and Russia.

Specifically the Russian BMPs and Shmert MLRS system while American Paladins, Humvees, and M1A1 Abrams.

3azeez: if you look up what a military parade is, you would find out that the army only shows its weapons to increase assurance into the people. What is want is what they do in training, so your basically telling me you want are forces to do “dogfhights” and kill one another on national tv????? (think before you speak)

Good defense against a couple of sneaker-wearing insurgents. No match for an ICBM attack.

I saw some of the LF’s equipment on its way back to G4 down 4th Ring road. They were driving them WAY too fast with sirens blaring for about 10 minutes. All you could hear were people in civilian passenger cars squeeling tires to get out of the way; or squeeling tires from the equipment as they almost hit them. It was a true show of farce. Lucky no civilian got hurt as these guys revved it up trying to get home for lunch.
