The Monolith
I love how this building looks like something out of a SciFi movie. I took this picture with my BlackBerry from the Al-Khalijieh building. I made it black and white just for added dramatic effect.

Follows the ideals of frank lloyd wright. a skyscraper has to free from any surrounding elements in order to appreciate its true presence.

I wouldn’t necessarily say it was copied from the Turning Torso, it may have been influenced by it.
Either way that building looks pretty sweet in that picture… Think it could be better if we could actually see it’s shadow covering surrounding buildings/structures.

Perfect shot dude, but the problem that they are building towers between those old buildings and behind that tower especially there are a lot of car repair shops area.
planning is very important

Honestly you gave an ugly building a face lift. They should pain the glass.

41. Architect | June 19th, 2009 at 11:25 am
Ok.
I will answer all your questions as I was the one.
The real suggested tower’s name was SG (bigger force liked KTC) as there are 250sqm indoor garden on every 6 floors. this tower is the only commercial mall with infinity pool on its mall roof (not the tower). you can swim and see your house. Amazing floor span with no columns on corners (when you stand at the corner the closest column to you is 12m away).
No Parking, The poor guys (u know who) are going to clean the glass.
good luck

44. Desert Girl | June 30th, 2009 at 11:46 am
I saw it last night in a sandstorm and it looked like a scene from a furistic apocolyptic movie. I love that building. Awesome.
