The New Bug Sandwich

And this is why I will never eat at Hardees again… or until I forget about this. A forum user ordered a burger from Hardees and ended up not finding one bug but a bunch of bugs in his sandwich! [Link]

  2. Beedz says:

ewwww!! that is nasty!!! yeah one is hardly excusable, a bunch? thanks but no thanks! so will they be under lockdown? some days ago rodents were found running around a restaurant here in chinatown, toronto. needless to say, it shut down!

  3. Mandy says:

well i nevr did like hardees too much in the first place!…but i guess when u need some comfort food it wud be the nearest place id go to – to chomp on a burger!…but it depends…mark, has this happened at a specific outlet in particular? Beedz, closing down one restaurant in china town would be different from shutting hardees all over kuwait!! But yea the idea of not knowing whats packed in those burgers anymore makes me nauseous after this post!

  4. indiancurry says:

Thank God the bugs were in your burger. I would have them there than on my laptop. Anyway, bugs are good protein in these recession times when food is hard to come by.

Think of poor Obama having to clean up the George Bugh, sorry Bush, mess. I would rather take bugs anyday than Bush.

    It’s a bug’s world anyway.

  5. binoo says:

  14. Kuwait says:

  16. Jan says:

  17. 3azeez says:

wtf Mark… I haven’t had Hardees in two months and was planning to have a sandwich in two weeks. now you ruined the whole thing. I feel like throwing up now even though I didn’t even have breakfast.-_-

  18. Sheep says:

ew ew ew… I eat at hardees all the time!! ahhh excuse me while i go puke out everything i’ve eaten in the last 6 months… ugh

    I’m officially grossed out..

  19. desertsky says:

Feels like I’m seeing bugs all over the place.Every single dot is a suspect. Some of those bugs seemed so real.Turns out it was only dust on my monitor.

  20. Stafa says:

Omg the lame comments I’m reading…

  21. hilaliya says:

Hardees used to be great in the 80 and early 90s: clean, good service etc – ever since Filipino workers and management were replaced by ‘other’ nationalities it has gone downhill dramatically. This is a fact.

That is why Mcdonalds in Kuwait continues to offer good service, solid, clean food and decent customer support – they know who to hire and how to train.

  22. Shadow says:

Fuck Hardeees! one of my friend died cuz of them! he got brain infection! i am serious about it!

  23. Holla says:

hahaha “other” nationalities hmm I wonder which one it is in particular? but yeah it’s true.

  24. DndoN says:

    la2nh al.edarh ma9ryah..

  25. Mark says:

as long as u stay away from the vegetables u should be fine. Roast Beef and Mushroom Swiss are safe :)

  26. Nat says:

yeah keep trying to convince yourself that it’s clean enough if u don’t have it with vegetables!

  27. Abdulrahman says:

    what did he tell them?

  28. Mark says:

Guys racist remarks will be removed. So far I have removed 2!

  29. nyx says:

This is pathetic. I agree without sounding racist that certain ethinicties dont give much impetus / importance to hygeine. And as for Hardees, its about damn time that Americana or who ever owns this franchise ‘ups’ their effort in providing hygeine and quality!

  30. Mark says:

McDonalds its the perfect example of an extremely clean franchise in Kuwait. McDonalds in Kuwait is actually the cleanliest McDonalds I’ve ever been to and I am talking about all their branches. You should have seen some of the crappy dirty McDonalds I went to while in London! Even in Lebanon the McDonalds there sucks. In Kuwait for some reason its just completely different and I love it.

  31. Mark says:

lol i would settle for combos for life

  32. Alia says:

Yesterday I went to baskin robbins Adaliya
And I saw a little cockroach near their sink
    Disgusting

I agree with you about McD. even in the US it’s was realy realy dirty, also in lebanon didn’t like it either, but in the Gulf region I guess it’s much better.

  33. nyx says:

Mark its due to the fact that Mc Donalds was fined a lot of tch thcing last year. They were almost on the brink of being locked down and asked to leave the country; but they managed to scrape through by paying one helluva fine and being pledged to having spot checks conducted at any of their locations in Kuwait by any one. Now; thats called cleanliness. Plus its also due to the fact that they changed the employees are well.

  34. Mark says:

nyx: McDonalds in Kuwait has always been clean, and I highly doubt they were fined while Hardees and Burger King weren’t.

  35. nyx says:

Sir; ever wondered why they keep ranting it out in public and send out half page adverts in leading dailies? It had to do with some personal enemity in these business houses as well. Hardees and Burger king as we know are owned and managed by some extremely Mr. Deep Pockets in Kuwait.

  36. Baziz says:

I think people who eat fast food on a regular basis have mental issues but alas..

My friend, your case is out of the question, take it to the real media, Newspaper, TV

Alrai would come knocking on your door, just call them. Trust me it will make you famous and Americana and it’s owner would come crawling at your door to shut up! Be smart man, get some cash out of this!

Or be a looser and eat hardeez again

  37. Kido says:

Let this not be a big suprise to everyone. I have had similar issues with two other fast food joints in kuwait.
The first was a few yrs back when i was eating the salad in pizza hut, and I bit a stone the size of a red bean. The stone had come with the salad.I am grateful i bit the stone as we were feeding our 3 yr old son also salad, and had he eated the stone , it would have been a big problem.
The second incident came last week when i went to KFC and ordered a family pack take away.I asked for some ice cubes in a glass , which the bearer provided happily. When i reached home and as I was putting the ice in the glasses, I noticed a black 45 degree bent strand on a cube.On close examination I found it to be the leg of an insect.
I have had many indents where i have found worms in the fresh leaves , that come with the salad in kabab restaurants.

    Enjoy the food in Kuwait

Customer: Waiter, there is a fly in my sandwich
Waiter: That’s all right sir, No extra charges….

  39. mentabolism says:

hmmm…on close inspection that looks like /Periplaneta americana/ —hhaahahah and that is the scientific name of roaches

  40. moose says:

That which does not kill us makes us stronger.Or very sick.

  42. wai3 says:

ysterday i ordered a chicken fillet and the chicken was red from the inside :S GROOOOOOOOSS

  43. hilaliya says:

Another great one was ‘Hungry Bunny’ – the chicken filet sandwiches especially were damn good. That was one popular joint, deservedly do and they had some excellent locations.

But they metamorphosized into ‘Burger King.’ And the rest as they say is history…

  44. baroni says:

    Mmmmmmmmmmm. Bugs!

  45. xxx says:

you guys should see what happens at K.D.D
    I work there
    I never drink K.D.D
better to have milk direct from the cow :)

  46. TanGo says:

I do NOT think this is Periplaneta americana..
but it could be imported with the meat YUK!!!!!!

  47. Moe says:

Baziz Al Rai or any other newspaper have a certain policy money before anything else and since Hardeez ot KFC and any other advertiser has a big budget spent in the newspaper.. NO WAY they are going to ut an article and loose such a client!! weird but true

  48. hilaliya says:

“you guys should see what happens at K.D.D
    I work there
    I never drink K.D.D
better to have milk direct from the cow :)”

Can you elaborate on that? Kids love KDD. Is there something we should know about?

  49. mentabolism says:

They probably mix all kinds of milk…cow, donkey, camel, goat …. i mean how on earth are we going to know whats in it….and don’t even start about ice cream…

  50. Q80Warlock says:

Actually I heard KDD milk is imported powdered milk, there is no truth about it being fresh from the cows boobs !

As for KFC/Hardeez they simply have no standards for clean food, I remember passing by a branch and they had the lettuce and cabbage on the floor at the backdoor no need to guess what jumps around these in the middle of the night.

Heres is a famous quote from a Hardooz employee “3awez takul willa la’ !, ma kullu akl ya 3am !”

  51. Mhm says:

    Freelensing bravo he he he

  52. george says:

    LOLLLLL @ cow’s boobs….although technically that’s what it is .

  53. hilaliya says:

“it being fresh from the cows boobs !”

I think this gentleman has put me off milk for life.

  54. abbas says:

good thing we dont have hardee’s in dublin lol

I never really liked milk :P

  55. simsim says:

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh !!! i feel all itchy from the pic noww
    NOOOOOOOOO !!!

  56. Hielda says:

This place is NEVER clean !! I had many incidents with Hardees !!

  57. Wissam says:

A colleague once ordered Hardees and got a caterpillar in her lettuce. She called to complain and they were so apologetic and send free food for all. So when the colleague asked me what I wanted, I immediately responded…COOKIES…!

  58. abbas says:

can’t go wrong with cookies lol

  59. george says:

@abbas..can’t go wrong…yeah, unless those choc chip toppings are really fried bugs…naaah…

“Sir would you like to try our new flavor.. Cookie with Bug fry dipped in chocolate ?”

  60. Durabul says:

Hardees is NEVER gonna be clean, and “the baladiya” is never gonna do anything about it!

    Solution: Stop eating that JUNK!

  61. lensman says:

Yeah bugs are a great source of protein. There are people in other parts of the world that actually eat them.

  62. JungleBlackOut says:

I remember a couple of years back, a friend of mine bite into a mushroom and swiss in a hardees in Dubai and found half a cocoroach.

  63. [...] wasn’t bad enough the manager there didn’t even apologize for it! Last month it was Hardees with their bug sandwich and now its Burger King with their rotten tomatoes. I guess I am only going to be eating at [...]

  64. hudson says:

xxx: would love to hear more about KDD or ABC or Almarai – i think they play a major part in our diets.

  65. Sunshine B says:
