Comments on: The Noodle House now open

My friends and i are planning for iftar outside of home today, the first time for me this year. I told them about this place and i heard allooot of recommendations from people telling me its a not to miss food experience! so anyways, i checked out their website and looked for the Kuwait contact numbers and called, several times. There was no answer at all since yesterday. I desperately need to know if they are open for iftar and if so, do i need to make a reservation or just walk in?
I would very much appreciate any info on how i could contact noodle house at once since its for today’s iftar like i just mentioned . thank you.

love Big Al, it had some good food on their menu and a really good atmosphere.. still cant believe they demolished that place…had some good times there

There is one in Fahaheel??if so, i would like to know the location please.

will soon try the noodle house…but Ahmed didnt have a good review on it… hmmm….

What is wrong with Alshaya food outlets? Please let me know if there is something I don’t know about. Not sanitary? health issues? Or what? Just curious, you seem to have had a very bad experience or somethin’. I haven’t eaten Hardees in awhile since that young lady found those bugs in her burger and posted them on her blog.

Quiet – i.e. not many people there. Something I liked, but obviously not good for profit…

Maybe their steaks weren’t the best on the planet, but then if we all wanted world-class food, we wouldn’t be in Kuwait. They were certainly good value.

How many Michelin starred chefs are there in Kuwait?

Mexican food is not good in my opinion. Just my opinion.

As for The Gaucho Grill. I’d rather staple my tongue to the table than eat Mr Alshaya’s food.

Not very observant are we Andy? It was closed because their steak sucked. Not because it was “quiet”. Didn’t you get the hint when there was no other patrons in the restaurant except you? Or when the waiter leaned over and asked you, “sir, are you sure you are in the right place?”

er, Ghostface… I never mentioned burritos – I hate mexican food :} I wasn’t making any comparisons about other restaurants – I was simply saying I enjoyed going to Big Al’s.

My reasons for liking it were:
a) The salads were nice.
b) The service was good.
c) It had a great view.
d) It was usually quiet (Obviously why it closed!)

Couldn’t say the same for the Gaucho Grill. can’t really comment on the other two.
I never said it was “a great steak place” just that overall it was good.
In the same way I’d never describe McDonalds as a great burger restaurant, but I still eat there and I think it’s good at what it does.

Mark! Andy Q8 and RaT dude81 should be banned from giving ” food place” advice. First they think “burritos” is “authentic mexican cuisine” and now they’re saying Big Al’s was a great steak place? WTH? Have they ever heard of “Gauchos” at The Palms? Or “Cuts” at Movenpick? Big Al’s was never a contender. That’s why it did’nt survive. Please don’t use words like “authentic, cuisine, really good, or best ever” when describing bad food! Are you the guys with the travel ban jeno was talking about?

I went to Noodle House and it was great.

The decor is much better than Madinat Jumeria and the view of the sea through their large windows is amazing.
Its difficult to absorb that this used to be Big Al’s location.
The food was exactly the same as I eat in Dubai and the service was also great.

I just went there with two of my friends and the first impression was good. we got a table and ordered . we waited 30 mins for the drinks , then another 30 mins for three dishes of appetizers which wasn’t that good . and waited 30 mins more for our main course which still didn’t arrive at our table . We talked to the manger who kept ignoring us and giving excuses . We then decided to leave the restaurant because of bad service . not going back there again.
oh yea and two other tables who came after us got their order and payed and left.

Big Al’s was really good, but they nobody knew about it. I used to eat there quite often – their steak salad was the best ever. Unfortunately, nobody knew where it was when I recommended it to them.
I’d like to know if it really does still exist in Fahaheel.
Can anyone confirm this?
