The Ultimate Mangoes?
I’ve been having such an incredible lucky streak with mangoes recently. The last two boxes I got from Sultan Center turned out to be INCREDIBLE but tonight I might have discovered the “ultimate” mangoes. A friend of mine dropped off a fresh box of Indian Alphonso Mangoes and I just had some… wow they just melted in my mouth. Turns out a friend of his imports these premium mangoes directly from India and has a delivery service here in Kuwait. Its called “Gourmet Mangoes” and you just call them up and order a box of mangoes and get them delivered to you.
They’ve got two kinds of mangoes, a box of regular sized ones is for KD8 while the jumbo sized mangoes are for KD9. That’s just slightly more expensive than Sultan Center which go for KD7.450 and these guys deliver so its worth trying out.

Oooohhh!! The west gets suckered yet again by India’s sinful platter! Alphonso’s are no where close to the other varieties of India’s rural produce!
You guys need to eat the ones produced in the Eastern Part of India to know what a Mango really tastes like! Alphonso?? sheeshhhh!!!!
It’s expensive,so it must taste good… lol!!

9 KD?
I’ll buy a jazeera return ticket for 9KD and then go to my house and pluck some from the trees and eat them fresh.

You should try the Philippines’ Carabao Mango (Manginera indica)… in fact, the 1995 Guinness Book of World records had declared, that the Carabao mango of Philippines is the sweetest mango in the world and the mango exporters of Philippines had hoped to cash on this .But they have not succeeded as much as they hoped, for the USA consumers felt it to be too sweet :). Don’t be fooled by Manila Mango, they are fake and actually from mexico.

Talkin abt mangoes…Well.I hail from the heartland of the mango country. I’ve grown up next to mango trees and harvested mangoes by myself. Ahh the experiance is awsome!! to be frank, the mangoes we get here are nothing compared to what I get from back in India. I just got a box of it from India, and my god!! AWSOME THEY ARE!!. the onese we get here in Q8 are harvested way b4 they get ready to be ripend and are artificially ripned. They may smell ok,but dnt really taset as good as the natually ripned onse. and yeah!! one peice of advise guys. IF u want a really genuine Alphonso mango, look for a meduim sized one,not the jumbo one, they are not the ideal size. Enjoy the mango season, Just a few days to go though :-D ( http://azzpics.blogspot.com/)
