Kuwait has been posting insanely huge yearly profits for the last many years. The fuel prices within Kuwait have been steady for the past four years or so. I can’t seem to understand why everything in Kuwait is getting costlier every day.
I visited Kuwait after a year and prices of everything from juice to hoomus and sandwiches have gone up. I keep reading budget surplus news about Kuwait with joy throughout the year but when I visit here its never good news. It makes me so sad.

They didn’t raise prices because they felt like it, but food cost is sky rocketing because Kuwait a non-agricultural country has to import 90% of the foodstuff from places like europe, india, china, south america etc. all of which have appreciated against the dollar and thus the KD. Still inflation is relative. Compare this 300 fils price to 3 pounds for ranoosh shawerma and you have a bargain.
