They banned LEGO!!

lego banned

Remember how last week I was hoping they weren’t going to ban LEGO from the market because its a Danish product? Well yesterday I past by Sultan Center and went upstairs to the LEGO section and guess what? All the shelves where the LEGO used to be are empty now! They banned LEGO!! The dairy section downstairs also had no more Danish products that includes Lurpak, Puck and Three Cows. Whats next? Will they start banning products from countries who supported the Danish like the French and Germans? Would that mean no more BMWs and Mercedes? That would be really silly.

Lurpack is my favorite type of butter, I swear I love it just soooo much! I hate them for doing this, I mean GET OVER IT ALREADY, The cartoons were made last year! In JULY, and the reaction is now in January of 2006?! I mean GET A LIFE PLEASE! Don’t you agree?

  2. 2. Mark | February 6th, 2006 at 10:19 am

I don’t mind them making a big deal out of the cartoons. I just think that taking away LEGO from the kids and Lurpak from the adults isn’t harming anyone except us regular people who want to live our regular normal lives.

I don’t think they should be banning products, I believe the way they are reacting is quite juvenile. Instead they should be dealing with it on a more proffessional and political level. The cartoons were offensive i agree on that but how about solving things more diplomatically instead of torching embassies and boycotting products.

Because you always bring these things to their minds, so again, keep quiet, do not open their eyes!

Nat, the Danish PM have refused to meet the Muslim ambassadors and you’re talking about solving it diplomatically. Personally I don’t think boycotting danish goods will work. And about what happened in Beirut yesterday! I feel ashamed.

Jackie the cartoon were published at the end of september .

now if we went into baycott at that time we would have been rushing stuff
because people baycott now , they are slow ?
    make up your mind

nat they couldn’t do it proffessionaly and politicaly
the danish Prime minster didn’t want to meet the abasodors , the newspaper refused to meet with muslims repsentive from denmark
the court refused to even start a case

what should have they done ?

  10. 10. Mark | February 6th, 2006 at 12:36 pm

Forza according to the article above which babaluga posted it seems that they have recently met with muslim representatives:

“As a result of the debate that has been going on about the drawings, we have met with representatives of Danish Muslims, and these meetings were held in a positive and constructive spirit. We have also sought in other ways to initiate a fruitful dialogue with Danish Muslims”

Mark, what is really silly is your ignorant comment and not what they are banning. Are you telling us now that you can not live without Danish products? Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have similar products and to me they are better than the rest. Muslims have all the right to boycott Danish products and any other product from any other country that does the same. For those who don’t like this situation can simply LEAVE.

“Are you telling us now that you can not live without Danish products? Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have similar products and to me they are better than the rest” Sam you are funny – if a little retarded. Some are ok but mostly shit. Unfortunately this country RELIES on the rest of the world. If you only have sand and oil, dont burn your bridges. Kuwait has no manufacturing industry or real creative products. In a century or so unless things change kuwait will slip back into the desert and it wont even have newspapers to print offensive cartoons in.

  15. 16. Marzouq | February 6th, 2006 at 1:08 pm

Sam.. people have a right to express their opinions in Kuwait.. and you dont like it then you dont have to read it. And if you are saying that Kuwait and Saudi have a substitute product for LEGO then I havent seen it. Smart Ass!

Cartoon rage spreads to New Zealand…

…NZ Prime Minister Helen Clark yesterday described the cartoons’ publication as “gratuitous”.

“New Zealand press is free and politicians don’t say what the press can print and what it can’t. It is a question of judgement and I don’t think myself either the publication, nor the reaction to it, do anything to bring communities and faiths together here or around the world.”

  21. 22. moi | February 6th, 2006 at 8:37 pm

i’m an arab christian and i just wanted to tell u guys that wut we’re living is way more complex and catastrophic than not having lurpak on our table or puk for breakfast.
i dunno wut Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten had in mind when he published wutever he published, but i believe that freedom of speech does not give a right to offend other people’s beliefs… especially muslims, enough opressions and stereotypes. maybe christians didnt rebel against dan brown’s da vinci code, and muslims dont have the right to act barbaroulsy in the streets… but still one cant erase wut he did with sarcastic apologies.

Lego is sacred. Bastards depriving kids of it. That is evil in itself.

  23. 24. Marzouq | February 7th, 2006 at 1:38 am

    lol .. Entrepreneur!

I shall order a huge amount of lego from amazon! lol.. i dont even know if they have it but amazon has EVERYTHING! hehehehe

  24. 25. Marzouq | February 7th, 2006 at 8:48 am

    Hey Moe,
I believe that their freedom of the press is no excuse to insult religion. But this is a very interesting double standard, the US, and France have a done a lot worse in many different ways yet you dont see arabs boycotting US and French products. People are only doing this because the Danish are weak in comparison. Also do you think is justified to have violence towards the Danish, do you think thats the solution? Setting fire to Danish Embassies is a great way to make our point come across.
And do you think the ones who wrote the article in the Danish newspaper were Christians? Well I think that is a very ignorant assumption to make.
