is this some kind of international chain joint?? the name totally sucks, and so does the logo.
and probably the food. i can’t imagine us gulfie peoples getting into nonhome prepared seafood… the only thing fastfood fish i’ve found acceptable (and excellent) is the Filet o Fish… McD…
5. Mark | March 29th, 2006 at 5:17 pm

Hey I say its ur blog and u can complain if you want to… sometimes (especially here in kuwait) we get these long patches of serious bad luck, in which case we must complain!! :D
As for the post, the prospects for this place don’t seem good to me… We Kuwaitis like our fish made at home… tho perhaps non-kuwaitis will enjoy it…. The name and banner totally suck tho….
Ok, this is off topic (and I’m a little scared of going off-post in my comments now.. :/) :P but I was wondering where u got ur Nikon D70… did u buy it in kuwait? if so, could you tell me where ‘cos I have no idea where to find one..? Thanx :D

Yo mark, this totally fish place has a sucky logo…
could have had alot more fun with it.
Totally Phish would have been cool for a start…
anyways… the red eye make it look like the fish is demonic…
regardless, any idea what the food is like? fast food or sit down?

It’s an Alshaya creation. Casual dining place with nice interiors, a la carte menu and a fresh fish display where you can tell them how you want it prepared. They had a big launch at Marina Crescent yesterday.

muchas gracias, mark! I appreciate the info…
I better take a friend who knows how to haggle… I suck at trying to wiggle prices down….. :/
If someone wants to open a fish place, it should be something a little different then what we can already make at home here… that’s why Danah restaurant never really worked out… or why no one but tourist go to Marsa…. They should have opened a Joe’s CrabShack or Red Lobster or Bubba Gump Shrimp or something like that… Something a little more accessible that caters to the younger crowd….
Just my 50 fils worth ;)

it is always easy to complain but difficult to create, give those people a chance and go try it, if you like it great, if you don’t it is not for u

I am impressed that we finally have local creations, rather than the typical franchises. I also think we are due for a new fish restaurant in Kuwait. I went to a tasting at Toally Fish and I was very pleasantly surprised. I would definitely go back. I like that people are now trying to create instead of just buying a ready made chain. I agree with Tarek - we should give kudos where kudos are due. Amazing how this restaurant has been trashed in these comments when none of the people have even been there! Goodness!

I think its a bold act from those pepole to open a new fish resturant in the kuwaiti market like totaly fish,And the best way to react is to try it befor judging it.
