Trader Vic’s opening on the Gulf Road?

Trader Vic's

A friend just told me that Trader Vic’s is opening on the Gulf Road right after Kuwait Towers and Ruby Tuesday. There are 3 small buildings that were just built on the sea side and one of them supposedly is Trader Vic’s. Will try and double check this myself tomorrow.

Update: I can now confirm that Trader Vic’s is in fact opening on the Gulf Road near Ruby Tuesday in front of Mais Alghanim.

I urgently need a high quality voltage converter/current stabilizer to run 110V US made equipment. The stuff at Sultan & Tru Value won’t do. Can you suggest a place were I can get quality converters to run some pretty expensive hardware?

    Much appreciated

Hi Nobu, The best thing to do is to buy a converter from ACE and have it fixed in a custom made wooden box. I am using it to run my treadmill which has 2 BHP motor and it has performed well so far.

Virgin Trader Vic’s, this should be interesting. we’ll see how this will be pulled off.. even tho i highly doubt it will flop, since most new restaurants tend to do well in kuwait.. i’m surprised the country has thin ppl..

Its owned by al safat investment company. and i dont see the point of a trader vics without the live music and the booZe! sucks!

At least they are trying to bring something interesting to Kuwait asides from the shitty McDonalds and Poisonous Naif Chickens.

    Bring on the alcohol.

It’s time Kuwait arrived into the modern age of freedom of choice.

It always amuses me to go to London, Dubai, Paris, Rome and see the place crawling with Kuwaiti’s enjoying their alcoholic beverages.

Its funny that everyone says it’s going to suck, but I guarantee that you will visit when it opens (hehe).

Thanks U2… I was just about to post the link from my blog

Random.. Safat is a so-called “Islamic” investment company, so no way in hell will they ever serve alcohol even if it was allowed here!

  31. 31. sfsa78 | April 23rd, 2008 at 11:39 am

If they are a so called islamic investment co., just look at the Hypocrisy.. aren’t they supposed to stay away from any company that associates themselves with selling of alcohol etc.

I like th eone here in bahrain … great interiors and the outside venue Mai Tai is amazing during spring/early summer !!!

  37. 37. crocko rock | April 25th, 2008 at 1:27 am

Yes, do feel sad for us in Kuwait. There is nothing much to do socially aside from drive up and down the Gulf Road and visit the malls that are packed with the same 40 shops.

Kuwaiti’s are the most open-minded and creative of all the Gulf Arabs, yet we are forced to invest our money into developing World Class Entertainment Venues in other neighboring countries…..

A small minority has us locked in the dark ages.
