U Shop We Ship Your Way?

I got a phonecall from the USWS owner yesterday asking my opinion on something. At the moment when you sign up with USWS they ask you if you want your mailbox checked once a week, twice a month or once a month. He wanted to know if we (USWS users) would rather have it this way..

Instead of a set frequency, WE get to decide when we want our stuff shipped. Say you order a bunch of stuff from Amazon, they ship it to your USWS mailbox as 3 boxes. 2 boxes arrive today and the third is still on its way. Once the third package arrives (say the next day), you go to your USWS account, select the 3 packages and click on ship now. Your packages then get shipped the same day. Currently if you tell them to ship a package right now you pay $20, they will be removing that charge.

Another example, say a magazine arrived to your mailbox today but you are planning to order stuff from Amazon next week. You can decide to keep the magazine in your mailbox until your Amazon packages arrive and then you can have them shipped all together and that way you save on shipping.

Another example is say you have 5 packages in your mailbox, you can decide to ship 3 now and leave the other 2 there to be shipped later whenever you want.

Am I being clear here? Basically they will get rid of the shipping frequencies and the 20$ ship now fee. They will let you decide when YOU want your packages shipped and then ship it when you tell them to. I personally find this a lot cooler since its faster and more affordable for us. Instead of having them ship 1 magazine and have me pay KD2.5 for it, I would rather attach the magazine to another heavier package and save on shipping. I also love the idea of having my packages shipped the same day they arrive if I want and at no extra cost.

I like the new way you are proposing where I have more control on what is to be shipped and when. Also, it could be cheaper shipping things in bulk. Another benefit would be that I am travelling and don’t want to receive the stuff I ordered while I am away so I will just leave it in the mailbox until I come back.

I will definitely switch to USWS from Aramex if they ever implemented marks proposal. But I really don’t see that happening.

The new one is much cooler, and like what you said its much more affordable to us and easier than shipping one by one if they arrive in diffrent date. I wish they change it today!!

Mark, I agree on your proposal. I ordered from 7 seller (DVD) on Amazon and USWS, shipped it here it Kuwait 4 times instead of 1.

Yeah that is the ownage. That would definitely rock. I get to choose, instead of having them choose it from a limited list, its perfect. Now get rid of high custom charges and we’ll be set ;)

I like this new way! I had something come into my mailbox and it said that they will ship it on the 1st of August but then I got a msg saying that it has already been shipped!

One issue though…. are you having problems paying online?

Actually, just few weeks back, I was in a same quandry and wanted to propose something similar like this on the forums.
Many times, packages get split up due to different suppliers and arrive at the mailbox at different times. I would like to have an option that says “Hold this package till xx/xx/xx” so that I can be sure that it will not get shipped until it’s companion arrives.
Once the date passes, then USWS can ship the package.
This will also be great when I shop from different merchants, and the goods will arrive at different times, but would like the whole lot to be shipped as one.

tell me have u ever conduted a comparision between usws and shop&ship of aramex? i’m using the latter (actually about to) and i wanna know if its the better deal.

I think this new way is much much better :/ This way they don’t disrupt my sleep LOL! Aramex has become so annoying that they only deliver packages when I am asleep forcing the house to wake me up to pay and they do that at least 3 times a week :/

Just what I was thinking about last night when they already shipped one of my packages and I still have three on the way. It’s great that they’re shipping once the package arrives in the mailbox, but it’s also costing more on shipping charges. It would be great if they could hold them until we choose to ship. This improvement would really make a difference when it comes to ordering online and we wouldn’t be computing the cost of “what if they didn’t arrive together.” It also could be bad for me since I’ll end up ordering MORE than I already am now knowing I can ship them all at once when I want to! ;) But I still love the idea!!

new one better, one comment though, becuase the address is in NY i get taxed for some items, but i dont get any tax charged to my name when i send it to an address in FL.

wish they could stop sending sms at weird times…like 2 am in the morning on 4.15 am…LOL…why cant they delay it to suit the local timings..

Whenever I get a SMS tone on my mobile at 3 AM in the morning (effectively messing up my sleep), I KNOW that my items have hit the mailbox.

I’m a USWS customer. unfortunately I didn’t experience good shipping from the first time use. every time, I had some issues. the most important one is ‘The package arrives and the website shows nothing’, some times 3-4 days!!! I had 4 packages shipped on 14 of December, still not arrived (today is 18)

old delivered packages still are in the ‘Shipped not delivered’ list!!

I’m using USWS only because it’s cheaper than ARAMEX. but aramex, in their web service, smoke USWS.

I hope they fix these issues.
