Want a Diablo?

There is a Lamborghini Diablo for sale on Q8Car for only KD14,500. I think that’s not a bad deal although I am not too fond of the color. [Link]

  4. 4. Labeeb | April 7th, 2009 at 11:42 pm

I think there is something behind this relatively low price

  5. 5. Mark | April 7th, 2009 at 11:46 pm

I never liked the Diablo SV, I thought it was too bulky a design!

  7. 7. fadibou | April 7th, 2009 at 11:58 pm

the car is well priced but the cost of service and insurance that will kill the new owner and most probably killed the current owner.

I hope whoever picks this temperamental beauty up starts a blog to document the suffering.

  9. 9. momo | April 8th, 2009 at 3:27 am

maintenance of the car would easily get to double the price in two years. thats the catch!

  10. 10. DucatiThrust | April 8th, 2009 at 6:11 am

No way that a Diablo would be priced so low!
    Most probably, it’s a replica.

To drive this car, you need to be spending a lot of time in the gym. the clutch and the gear are a really bad mess, you must be tall and muscular to enjoy taking it around, not to forget how hard it is to control at high speeds.

Most exotic super cars before the year 2000 were a mess to drive but a joy to look at.
Insurance would be at least 1500 too 2000 kd
Servicing the car at the main dealer would be 1500 to 2000 for normal service visits.
spare parts can easily jump over 500 kd for basic brake discs or similar items.

Diablos have one of the highest rates of depreciation, 14K is not bad.

  13. 13. TweeZ | April 8th, 2009 at 8:42 am

is this a real Lambo or a body-kit? that’s the question that should be asked

  15. 15. Salbader | April 8th, 2009 at 8:46 am

Italian exotic and over 70,000 KMS … Sikraab!
Id rather go for a used Z06 at that price!

lets not forget the horrible leaky roof and windows problem ( not that would be much of an issue since rain here isnt that THAT common)

  17. 17. Sp K | April 8th, 2009 at 9:34 am

thats not a good price. the 2005 diablo can go for 45,000

  18. 18. Mark | April 8th, 2009 at 9:36 am

yeah thats more than double the price!

  19. 19. Mark | April 8th, 2009 at 9:37 am

thats actually 3 times the price.

Guys before 3 years or so diablos were sale for 12000, this is to much. a diablo and a countach are the worst lamborghinis in terms of reliability but are the best in looks in my opinion. Because they are too much of a pain , there market in kuwait is really bad. You can find a REAL diablo for less than 12000 if you look properly and you can find diablo and countach replicas for less than 10000KD. For those who are not familiar with the the term, a replica is the body of the car with a different engine (usually chevy corvette).

  24. 24. K.theKuwaiti | April 8th, 2009 at 2:17 pm

    clutch + service = 5000KD+

  25. 25. Feras | April 8th, 2009 at 2:33 pm

want to know the funny part, used Enzo’s are more expensive than new ones, Enzo’s were sold via invitation to Ferrari owners, F40 and F50 in particular, so even if you had the ability to buy 10 Enzo’s you can’t unless you were invited to buy one, and thats why used Enzo’s are priced ridiculously, cuz not everyone with money can own one. Hell of a scheme eh.. but this one is over priced compared to the average prices, a used Enzo will go for around 250,000KD, retail is almost 190,000KD, i know this becuase i almost bought one, and then i woke up and realised i was late for work.. *GRIN*

Maybe it is a rental car in one of the car rental company, so it is not well maintained

“wow there is an Enzo for sale. Fucking 340,000KD”

It will never sell for this price or any price above 20,000. Not now.

Q:Why would the owner of a fancy collector’s car sell it?
    A: He’s in debt.

    FAIL!

  28. 28. Feras | April 9th, 2009 at 12:39 pm

Nobu, i sure hope you meant 200,000

I am somewhat knowledgeable of Lamborghinis as I currently own a 97 roadster and have been involved in the purchasing and shipping of a number of them from kuwait to Australia. Firstly,Diablos are TROUBLE with a capital T.Take a look underneath the pretty fibreglass body and they are nothing but rust buckets. Oveheating is a major problem due to poorly designed radiators etc. 14,000 KD is way too much for these crap cars and I have paid half that for 93 models. Most owners are happy to be rid of them. But they sell well in other countries.Later models are better but you will pay accordingly.

Your post should read, “want to spend 14,000 KD servicing a KD 14,000 Diablo?”

  31. 31. Jasem | April 14th, 2009 at 9:49 pm

    Nobu:

Ebay had an ENZO that sold for 700’s USD, back when the Dollar was at par with the Iranian Toman (Joke), which means an Enzo sold for quiet a bit under 200,000 KD.

    “if there’s a will, there’s a way”
