Work for SPIN Magazine
The coordinator of SPIN’s new global correspondence program emailed me the following:
SPIN magazine, USA’s leading music magazine is looking for fresh, new faces to write about Kuwait’s local music scene. If you or anyone you know would want to write about the music you enjoy, get paid for it, and gain some exposure in the US, please let me know. Feel free to ask me any questions and forward this to anyone who might be interested!
If you’re interested please send me a photo of yourself, a short bio (a couple paragraphs including age and how long you’ve lived in the area) and a little about your area’s music scene as soon as possible.
If you’re interested send an email to mnabi@spin.com

Hahaha….let’s write about the Kuwaiti concert that was stopped because of “a kiss”……
Music Scene?
Sad thing is, I’m sure there are a lot of talented people in Kuwait - but they’re kept down by a few repressive parasites.

Last I saw we had a music scene was about the time Nabeel came out with Ya Shams. It was all darkness after that.

Only thing I remember was MIAMI (”Rahet Aleina”) and THE BENDELI FAMILY (sp ?)- and that decades ago.

If you live in a cave it doesn’t mean she’s lying. When I was in university I used to get Spin and RollingStone all the time. Its a pretty popular music magazine.

Spin and Rolling Stones are just way too mainstream. Only the cover of the X-files duo in bed saved their asses from loss of intrest between college students, beside their absurd price for stupid commentary. We used to get Maxim, FHM and Stuff for music,…and more too!!

hahahahahah. ay music scene?
18. Patrick | October 10th, 2008 at 3:16 am
They’re mainstream for a reason, cause they actually have some pretty good articles. Especially Rolling Stone magazine =]
Maxim, FHM isn’t mainstream? o.o
